From reading the article, it sounds like he just steals semi trailers regularly, I assume to try to sell the contents. I wonder how he does his targeting, or does he end up stealing a lot of relatively worthless cargoes for every 6 figure+ theft?

Steal one truckload of ventilators and you're a felon.
Steal ten thousand truckloads of ventilators and you get to sit in the corner and watch the gardeners bang your wife, Ivanka.

For a lot of these guys, it's a living. They target all manner of stuff. Consumer goods are especially popular because they don't have serial numbers. But you name it, it gets stolen.

Extradite him to El Salvador. I believe that they have the greater interest in charging him.

No, I'm going with "How does that work", since I thought "You shouldn't be stealing shiat" was a given. Was I wrong in that assumption?

Seriously, how many containers are full over a a few thousand dollars of, say, printer paper or bulk textiles or whatever compared to a container of laptops or ventilators? How do you pick the most profitable one to steal since, presumably, you don't have much of a chance to check them before grabbing them? The idea of someone providing manifests to him answers that question.

/Also, how do you fence ventilators? Is there a thriving black market out there for them?

My dad bought a giant bottle of A-1 that fell off the back of a truck.  People will steal anything, and people will buy anything if the price is right.
