Shouldnt the DOJ do their freaking job and investigate Trump instead??

Why give those docs to congress when you just know they aint gonna do shiat with em?

DOJ should investigate the documents then bring in criminal charges against Trump. Its that freaking simple.

They were totes gonna drain the swamp. But then they read 'Everglades: River of Grass' and realized that wetlands are part of America's natural treasures and a key ecosystem that not only hosts a wide variety of plants and animals; but they also help protect watersheds, prevent floods and maintain water quality.

We don't know they aren't.  Taking down accomplices in very public manner tends to provide, snitches via plea deal, additional evidence of criminal activity, and adds pressure on the target which often forces mistakes.

You don't openly declare you're investigating a former president from the start.  You nail their buddies around them first.  You're going to have to be patient.

I wish that I was somehow amazed that this amount of corrupt people could be gathered into a single administration. I remember when Bert Lance and Ron Brown were big deals. With these guys from the last administration, you just had to lay low for a week or two, and then someone else would be zeroed in on and take all the oxygen. The next week, it would be someone else.

FFS, Trump aint the farking unabomber. He's a farking idiot surrounded by russian mafia. Has been since 1987. How in the fark hasnt he been arrested or charged with crimes yet? Being white and having money in this banana republic we call the US is like being invincible.

Guys, Trump as a person may be hard to pin down for a crime, because he was a president. His business that are full of tax avoiding, fraud, fake billing and direct money transfers are open season.
For example, Ivanka getting consultant fees is an easy target. I'm sure there are hundreds like this.

It seems dysfunctional, but this is actually the way it's supposed to work in terms of Checks and Balances. The Constitution says that Congress has oversight over the Executive Branch. And the DoJ is a part of the Executive Branch. Letting the current DoJ investigate without Congressional oversight is akin to 'We investigated ourselves and found that we did nothing wrong.' Yes, it's a different DoJ under a different administration, but it would still set the precedent that it's okay for one part of the Executive Branch to investigate another part without Congress getting involved; and that's something a future Trump 2.0 could exploit even more than Original Trump did.

I just read an article about a landlord who killed a renter and sunk her in a cement-filled boat like 30 years ago. A random diver recently came across the body and the farker is in now jail.

The arm of the law is long. Unless he strokes out and dies first, **45 is gonna get what's coming to him. And even if he dies, his kids are going down. His fortune is in tatters, the lawsuits are piling up, and he's doing open mic nights at his shiatty little golf course to keep fleecing retirees out of their fees in a maniacal, desperate attempt to keep himself supplied with hamberders and Diet Coke.

Today is probably the best day of the rest of his life. From here on out, the piper is gonna be there at his doorstep, every single day, demanding recompense for the atrocities he committed.

Imagine the overwhelming narcissistic injury he will suffer as his predatory existence is exposed relentlessly, every day, brick by brick of his hateful wall being hammered and pulverized by the few career law enforcement professionals be couldn't buy, the dust of his own deeds suffocating him, hour by hour, for the rest of his pitiful life. That's what the future holds for him.

Roger Waters couldn't have written a more hellish fate.

One can only hope that his public horror serves as some small deterrent against the next paper tyrant's ascension... but that's almost certainly hoping for too much.

On the bright side, he can no longer pretend that he's to busy presidentin' to have time for court. They could literally haul him over in shackles, and force him to spend every remaining day of his 'retirement' in the defendant bench with attorneys and judges ripping him a new one all day long.
He'll never again be in charge of picking what channel to turn the communal TV to either.

/Him deciding to run for president could literally turn out the worse decision he ever made in his life

Rod Serling could and did on Night Gallery. The one you described reminded me of the earwig. It burrowed into his brain and he had to wait until it ate it's way through to the other ear, which it did. Joy was heard throughout the land until the doctor told him it was a female and had laid eggs in his brain.

He had some seriously twisted stories. The guy who could move his spirit out of his body for the perfect murder then ended up killing his own body. The guy who turned into a slug. It was the TZ on steroids.
