Wait, you mean to tell me the cops didn't shoot the Black cat?

They are more likely to shoot the coyote, it being a dog.  I would have thought it would be reflex.

Coyotes often lure prey into a hiding pack of coyotes. That cat is likely dead.

This is a popular myth, usually told by people who like to claim that it's how coyotes deal with guard dogs. But it's not true.

What's happening here is the equivalent of Han Solo, by himself, chasing that entire squad of stormtroopers down the hallway. It works very well until they realize what they're actually running from.

Coyotes lure their prey into traps involving magnetized bird seed, exploding pianos or tunnels painted onto cliff faces. Unfortunately they are rarely successful with these tactics, especially if they use Acme products.

I see coyotes a lot. They don't do packs. You seldom see them together.

Working as planned.

We would see them working in packs when I lived in Texas.  They hunt small game - rabbits etc - alone. But they go after bigger prey - deer - in a pack.

That's why it was running. The coyote was just a coincidence.

They don't congregate near mailboxes awaiting packages containing death traps?
