Morning all. Other than West Ham's outside chance of the Europa League, are any of the EPL games worth watching today?

I might just go do chores and come back for the cup final and a half-time cup of tea

Yeah, it is pretty slim pickings today innit?
Still can't believe last night's game. That was nuts.

Burnley v Leeds might not mean anything as far as the league is concerned, but a Lancashire v Yorkshire game is always going to be a little bit feisty (though not as much as it would've been with fans in there).

There's a little bit of history there. Leeds have part of it in their club crest.

BT have their second string on this one, cause their best people are all going to be at Wembley for the cup final.

They have a second string to Glen Hoddle?
Who would that be?
Danny Murphy?

Burnley all over Leeds like a rash at the moment

They've gone with all the ex WSL players they have on the books.

They're all pretty good colour commentators and half time pundits, certainly better than Hoddle, but they only ever get the 'nothing' games like this.

(Peter Crouch is also there)

Will have commentary choice for the fa cup final later, it's on both BT and the BBC.

Given Darren Fletcher is on this one, I suspect Bt witll have Iain Darke, a Steve McMananman and Glenn Hoddle on their coverage. If the bbc go with Jonathan Pearce ... well, not sure which is worse.

Still fond of McManaman. He was one of my favorite players as a kid, even if his stay in Madrid was brief.

Brief is one word. It was barely longer than my stay, and I was there on a summer vacation.

According to Wikipedia, he stayed for 4 years. I find that hard to believe. If you asked me, I'd have said it was 2.

/I bet he had to leave because of Beckham
//yet another reason to hate that transfer

Sure enough, the reason I thought he was there for 2 years was that his last 2 coincided with Galacticomania, so he rarely got time.

/TIL Seedorf had the balls to fight Fernando Hierro right as McManaman got signed
//released shortly afterwards

McManaman is remembered mostly fondly by Madrid fans from what I've heard.

Jonathan Woodgate... not so much.

Scottish football is in a sad state. Rangers are probably going to end the season unbeaten, and then get eliminated from Europe in the qualifying rounds.

Also, the second-placed team in Scotland also gets a Champions League slot, which is either sad or funny. Maybe both. They would be better off playing in the Europa League with a chance of parachuting into the Europa Conference, where they might be competitive.

Macca is held in the highest regard. He was highly effective and a positive presence at a time where the locker room was chaotic.

Woodgate had the kind of calamitous start where you have to be otherworldly to overcome it. He wasn't, so he didn't.

/Marca likes to remind its readership that it considered Modric Real's worst signing of the year, back in his first season
//he's the first player to get his first Ballon d'Or as a Real Madrid player for the entire season since Alfredo Di Stefano

Leeds to be much snappier moving the ball around the penalty area. It's all very hesitant.

SPL sadly going the way of the Norwegian Eliteserien and the Austrian Bundesliga, where it weakens to the point it doesn't show up in the CL anymore. If they do, they're 100% cannon fodder.
