Not Mozart, but I've heard Vivaldi played on banjo. And the ukulele.

That is not a banjo.  It is a banjitar or guitjo.  It's a guitar.

As a wise man once said, it's impossible to play a depressing song on the banjo.

I went on a dive through his YoUTube channel, and the dude is insanely talented. Much respect.

Yup.  And I'd wager he learned it from Tony Trischka.

Nope, just Beethoven's Ode to Joy with Yodeling, whistling, and banjo (from Raising Arizona) by the immortal Pete Seeger.

A bit twangy for my tastes.

How about some Mozart on the Dobro?  Less twangy!

Eine Kleine Nachtbanjo

I would have liked it better if he would have arranged into a bluegrass style.

nice bit. My own tastes for such a video though would be a no cuts / obvious one take camera angel cuts performance.
Basically a video of someone playing is sort a pointless to me, if it's the same as the studio album where they spliced together all the little bits to make the play that never actually happened that way.

The video version of the player playing the song, seems silly to bother making if it's not giving us anything the studio album cut couldn't.

Great rendition and good play, but i'd liked to see it played from start to end as an uncut performance version. Something that better show cases the playing more than just, could listen to the song without a video and it's the same thing, little bits cut together so well you can only tell it's that because of the camera angels they cut between so fast as to make it plain, that's not a one take play we're seeing, that's the studio cut with bits from many many takes all spliced together and the song we here is the studio recording on top.

Now if the video si a concert scene and the video is not a solo show case of Watch me play this, but really, check out what the show is like, let us set a scene for you ,kinda thing. that's a totally different Aim to what is being delivered.
A vi doe of just, watch this player play this shiat out of this song. Then that ought to be shot in a way that makes the one play we are watching be the real one play that was recorded in that one go.

Aims and modes as it were. If the Aim is to show of the playing skills, then the video probably ought to make that play thought be a real one. Even if you are faking it, how you cut it can hide that better, rather than make it obvious and show it off that clearly you got a lotta takes from angles that had to be separate shots at different times in order to get without the other cameras in the shot.

So here where they want the video to be: check out my play skills
But the nature of the video exemplifies: Check out our capacity for filming and editing.

Still nice play, did enjoy the listen.

Heh.  I once learned "Fur Elise" on guitar, then whipped out a metal version of it at practice one time when I was in a band.

I got some looks.

Aaach!  I don't question that he's talented, but that sounds awful.

There's a surgeon that occasionally goes to my hospital that likes to play that shiat.  He does eight hour mommy makeover procedures.  Eight hours of that on the stereo.  It feels like every note bounces around in your skull and then the guitarist just packs more notes in there before the first note is done.  And I LOVE Rondo Alla Turca.  I'm all for lively music, but there's something about THAT specific type that makes me antsy if you play more than a couple of songs of it.

I make sure I have MY music playing before he enters the room and outs on his own.  I shuffle about thirty different Pandora stations, about half of which are things that other people like (and for my half, I make sure not to have anything that's not too out there.  Some country, but just Willy and Waylon.  Some rap but mostly Run DMC.  Some Jazz but mostly Louis and Ella, and if course stuff like 70-90's rock.  I stay away from stuff like Norah Jones because it's too mellow. Even though I like her).  The variety actually keeps people awake better than just pure rapid fire guitar picking.  Or so they say.
