Also those guys have serious chops.

I dabbled in the hardcore scene late 90's and early aughts so I'd been familiar with Cave-In. Took Googling to figure out that the two acts were related.

And thanks, will check out the rest.

And hopefully I don't get a nastrygram from IT for googling Gina Gearson. YOU COULD HAVE WARNED ME!

Gina is super rad.  Real nice and down to earth in person too. I got to talk to her and John Baizley and John's mom after a show they did in Jacksonville a few years ago.  I didn't realize til then that the pit in front of me had been pushing me into John's parents the whole show and I apologized profusely.  They were cool about it though, said they understood and were just excited to see everyone enjoying their son's music.

Can confirm they're very nice people, at least when I saw them right before the shiat hit the fan. Excellent live band.

Christ I miss concerts.

A spelling mistake with unintended consequences I'm guessing.  There's legit actress Gina Gershon, then the adult film actress Gina Gerson.  Also discussed in this thread, Baroness guitarist Gina Gleason.

Guy hits nail on the head.

Avenged Sevenfold was one of my favorite bands in high school, specifically for Waking the Fallen, but I tried to go back and listen to earlier stuff, and ooof.  ooof, is Sounding the Seventh Trumpet rough.

Will totally agree the Rev could destroy some drums, honestly stopped listening to A7X once he passed away.

I swear it was an honest, unintentional mistake!

But now I know about Gina Gerson. Nice.

A combination of the lyrics being absolutely awful in hindsight and M. Shadows going full MAGA early on turned me off of them a looooong time ago. I remember seeing them at Warped Tour in 2004 or so and he went on some kind of pro-gun rant (it was suburban Kansas, so maybe he felt like he was in a safe space) and I remember just standing there in disbelief.

That and I feel like they embodied Hot Topic just as much as My Chemical Romance and Coheed did in the early to mid-2000s.

LOVE Bridgeburner and Bandages. His guitar sound is so fat and muddy and processed. Sounds so cool. He took his tuning from Slipknot.
