red5ish: Could this be wishful thinking on the part of the network?

It's wishful thinking that the identified quality of the talent is going to step up and play to expectations.

I was worried about their offense coming into the season, though I thought Turner would be one of the ones slumping not Betts.  Still plenty of time to turn it around, but the supposedly deep lineup is nothing of the sort when guy like Rios, Neuese, and Raley are getting at bats.

This isn't unusual when a team assembles all-stars and they have to play together.   They will be just fine.   Meanwhile, the Tigers are performing to expectations.

ESPN just let Kenny Mayne go.

I remember when SVP was the "new kid."

4-16 over their last 20. Yeah, their pitching staff is banged up, but I thought one of the reasons the Dodgers were going to win 120 games this year was because of their depth. Like, they could split the team in half and make the playoffs with both teams kind of depth. They might still be the team to beat on paper, but on dirt and grass, they've been worse than everyone but Detroit for three weeks.

You goin' learn about ol' every other year Mookie. Very Rodgers like.

It's just that every other year at .265 / 20 / 100 is still a pretty good year for many ballplayers... Maybe not at that salary though.  You'll hate that contract before it ends, so maybe get some 2020 pictures and autographs and hang them up.
He'll be back in 2022 and maybe 2024 but then he'll be in his 30's
