That's why they're only legalizing medical. They want a mad and dangerous world but are well aware they're missing out on the gravy train.

Because White Boomers are staring death in the face and they want to get as High as possible NOW after making sure as many poor brown people are locked up for it as possible for the decades prior.

Yeah, they don't realize medical isn't taxed. Taxing medicine is a dick move.

Oh, wait...

It's not just taxing; they want near-exclusive manufacturing and distribution deals when they're in power to pick licensees, for example. Always remember: grift above all.

Not mine. There is a ballot initiative afoot to legalize it, so our legislature proposed both a constitutional amendment to permanently prohibit legalizing it, and a bill, now signed into law, that effectively makes ballot initiatives impossible. I am so out of Idaho the minute I retire. Two more years.

If you own a home, now might be the time to sell. My son's house has gone nuts.
I miss Boise but he says it's nothing like it was. Just strip mall after strip mall to Eagle and beyond.

The "family values" party loves state-sponsored gambling too.
What's next? Prostitution? Loan-sharking?

Offer not valid in states where the Republican controlled state legislature has overruled the will of the voting public.

Don't worry about them trying to grift, there's a fight about legalizing it because if police can't just say they smelled weed in order to search you, your home, or your vehicle it would make it harder for them to violate your rights.

Surprised they forgot Wisconsin.  Literally all our neighbors have it (including freakin' Iowa!), an advisory referendum passed handily and the Democratic governor put it in his budget so it wouldn't be a stand alone fight.  Our Republican legislature looked at it and turned into Harry Anslinger.

Every Republican is trash

It makes a lot of  money.  So they're for it.  Morality has nothing to do with it--just like anything else involving money.

By the time the red states legalize, the Republicans already  will have a share of every grow house in their states.

/we just legalized though, and I dont think they've going to fark it up too much.  They tried though.

Bunch of ex-hippies turned morality brigade are retiring and want to become numb again?

They did some nasty stuff in Montana too, with Gianforte in charge.   But Idaho usually wins that one.

This week we got the anti-trans bill.  Thanks, farker, for taking care of the important things!

There's too much money to be made for outdated justifications to hold water.

And eastern OR thinks they want to join ID.  I hope they do.

It will never happen in Wisconsin so long as the tavern league continues to influence the republican partly in state. There need to fair elections in which the democrats can win (unlike 2018 where 52% of the vote got them 36% of the seats) or it needs to be legalized federally.

Red states.  R(epublican$) Finally figured out, don't incarcerate. Profit. How many years, how many they've hurt.

They gotta have something to take the edge off of all the meth and child porn.

About time. This is excellent news for all the cancer patients who will finally have legal access to a drug that, according to what I have learned on Fark, will cure the disease that afflicts them.

in missouri, almost ALL of the production, manufacturing, and sales are owned by either republican st. louis lawyers, or republican payday loan sharks.
the cost of "getting into the game" is so ridiculously high, that they are the only ones who can do it.

and so far, most of the products are not very good and STOOPID expensive.

/grow your own--it's worth it.

I almost fell out of my chair when it was announced medical marijuana passed here (Oklahoma).  I laughed myself silly while the Republicans in the State House tried to overturn the vote.  When they couldn't subvert the democratic process there was a mad scramble to get rules into place, per the initiative, very quickly.  A person can't swing a dead cat by its tail without hitting a medical marijuana dispensary in this State.

That's very ironic considering Oklahoma tried suing to stop Colorado from continuing with decriminalized marijuana sales.  Also note, society in Oklahoma didn't collapse (any further than it has).

Because they know Libertarian types would vote John Wayne Gacy for PTA president as long as he said something nice about weed.

I wish we could turn more conservatives into pot addicts.  Might calm them the f down and chill.

The only reason is that there is enough medical evidence that public officials can no longer ignore it without the risk of eventually being forced into the courts.

But they're trying their damndest to make sure it's no fun for anyone trynna be legal.

In an ironic twist here in Texas, a lot of the potheads at vape shops selling things like delta 8 THC are also Republicans and couldn't help bringing up Trump last year.  I guess they know a good grift *cough* business opportunity when they see one.

All the potheads I know are too lazy to do shiat so maybe it's a form of voter suppression they don't have to push themselves?
