I was criminally shy growing up, I didn't talk to anyone; some people thought I was autistic.

Anyone do anything with FLIR on something like a Raspberry Pi? I'm looking for something better than 8x8.

Or did I come to the wrong thread?

I have not, I have a FLIR One, but that's it. I've worked Raspberry Pi before doing some CV stuff.

I use FLIR on a smartphone, from https://www.flir.com/products/flir-one-gen-3/

but for an RPi, hmm, the cameras seem pretty small, just need to repurpose them.  They work with an Android phone, but the RPi is linux, hmm

The FLIR Lepton works with the RPi, is that the 8 x 8?

I'm looking for a budget solution, and a DIY project where I can leverage my 3D printer. I'm trying to build something like a tricorder that can widen our spectral view for my own personal amusement. (UV looks like it's going to be a biatch.)

I like the FLIR One. Probably best in class at that price point.

That's the one I was thinking about. I remember seeing it like last year. New it was out there, but forgot all details.

Yes. 160x120. That's great, thank you very much.

Good luck!  A tricorder that actually works sounds awesome.  Have you seen those things that shine some sort of light at a human hand and you can see the veins underneath?

It looks like the next show is Persia Unearfed.  I wonder if there'll be cats.

I've started playing classical music again on guitar and on keyboard for the first time.  I can sightread pretty well on guitar, except when they get really devious.  But on the keyboard I might sit there for a while trying to translate that F Clef, and then figure out where everything is with respect to middle-C, maybe taking 10 seconds to play the next notes.

This was supposed to be Persia Undearthed, but now it is a show about the Stasi secret po po.

:)   Cool!

You could put Pro Tools on it.  Well, one step at a time.  Maybe it will let you get to archive.org.

I like updating Windows PCs, but it never really changes, it just seems the same.

They make great computers, with pretty radical angles, and lots of power.  Congrats!
