"Air rappels" are not approved. Always clip in before approaching the edge.

Is "DCD" widely used parlance? We Yurpeans call those "descendeurs" or "descenders" if you don't want to be French and/or use Petzl's trademark.

We use a lot of racks and eights over here while I believe bobbins are more popular in Europe. It's more of a technical term, a catch-all.
Though I have seen bobbins making inroads lately.

He probably felt tired after the fall.    Lost a lot of energy on the way down.

Or the like? The fact the question arises does make the utility of the graphic a bit questionable!

Not gonna lie, I am more than a bit surprised that the U.K. has not installed railings at all these cliffs.

For all the (frequently accurate) Nanny State accusations leveled at the UK, you're pretty much on your own once you're in the countryside unless there's a very specific invisible/non-obvious threat (crumbling cliffs, inescapable swirling vortices of doom*) The US National Park thing of treating you as though you'll launch yourself off the nearest cliff unless repeatedly warned 300' out isn't really a thing.

Looking closely at the pic it looks like an ATC on a carabiner, which I don't like.

You know, these links always say NSFW content on page so I click and I never find any NSFW content.

An eight is great, until for whatever reason, your rope "slips up." I prefer a Rescue 8.
