24 hour transit is one of those things that should be standard in any city large enough to have 24 hour employment.

I can't understand why every town doesn't have at least one 24-hour place to shop.

A lot of those low volume places shut down their 24 hour service after a two-employee-on-duty minimum was made mandatory following a clerk killing or two.

Precisely eleven places.

You gotta be at least my age, old man.

You seriously have never heard of this following some kid getting greased at two in the morning?

It was stopped so the trains could be sanitized. A pointless endeavor, because as nothing is a crime in NYC anymore, you're more likely to get stabbed at 3am than you are to catch the rona.

The city needs another Rudy or Bloomberg. It turned back to Dinkins quality within a second deblasio term.

Don't see how it does. Do you think the city is actually in a better shape than it was 10 years ago?

Violent crime up in the subways with far fewer riders along with whatever they are doing to disappear the homeless.

Indeed, when visiting another city, I have to make sure to remember that 24/7 transit is the exception, not the rule and adjust according.

You can catch a bus at even the latest hour on the road that runs in front of my place, but it's a really, really bad idea.

The last thing the world needs is either of those pricks anywhere.

It's almost like making someplace more insufferable has a direct correlation on violent crime, so maybe we shouldn't do that.

The point is, some little girl just trying to make a few extra bucks working the third shift, won't be left completely vulnerable to a career rapist that the bleeding hearts have unleashed on society time and time again.

It's OK to be unhappy about crime and support stronger enforcement without being racist.

What we're seeing now in big cities is the opposite of "broken windows policing" and the result is tons of minor property crime and bums harassing people on the street with impunity.

Stopping policing isn't better than what we had before.

But yeah, I forget this is Fark, where you're a bad person if you call the cops to report a crime.

Bleeding hearts like St. Reagan.  How's having churches voluntarily pick up the slack for getting rid of the infrastructure to do an involuntary mental health hold working out exactly?

Ooh, so just because you're afraid of the dark means everyone else has to be.  Got it.

Broken windows policing lacks imagination and is what got us here.  That ultimately made the police the catchall for everything.  Maybe house the homeless and provide support for rehab and job placement.  Legalize recreational marijuana.  Screen out white supremacists and fascists from civil service.  Automate speed limit and red light enforcement (just don't privatize it).  Take a look at what Eugene, Oregon is doing with CAHOOTS, sending them out to calls that will not be resolved by a man with a gun.  Take a look at what BC Ambulance Service is doing for mental health and drug calls in East Vancouver.  Defunding the police isn't the same as abolishing the police, it's reallocating the money so the police don't have to be a catchall and can focus on shiat police actually do need to do: Law enforcement, that's it.

The opposite of a police state isn't libertarian anarchy.

Be flippant over the death of a child all you like (no surprise, give your know deviance), but Reagan had fark all to do with this bluest of blue states looking the other way when repeatedly faced with someone as obviously evil as Blom
