Came to make an "in the butt, Bob" comment; shaking tiny fist at quicker and more anatomically accurate post.

They say the microchips are to protect pet lizards? Are they seriously chip scanning invasive reptiles in the wild before killing them? Maybe the real goal is to find the jerks who are illegally releasing their lizards when they get too big and inconvenient.

That's probably the goal.
But they should figure out how to DNA-tag them, so they can send a bill for the descendants of escaped lizards.

Florida bans toilet-invading iguanas

Wait, what? You can't just leave that and not say any more about it. I have questions.

I cannot understand why pythons aren't banned outright. There are periodic calls and sometimes actual attempts to ban certain breeds of dogs, but numbnut posers can acquire and keep a deadly python until it becomes inconvenient when they dump the pythons into wild. It makes no sense at all.

I have seen so many iguanas in FL in the past 2 months that I figure someone could release a hundred iguanas and never have to worry about the right ones getting caught and scanned. The numbers are just astronomical.
