Conservative judges are now just making up law out of thin air.

They won't even allow it on the ballot in Iowa
So Florida is a step ahead of us in this aspect.

Iowa is just waiting on a Corn/Pot hybrid to be introduced, then they will be all over it.

Only if Monsanto is granted a shoot to kill license for patent violators.

Sounds like a Supreme Court challenge to me that might actually quash the whole Federal Law.

For a long time, an 85 year old lady here wanted it legal so she could grow it on her 250 acres

She changed her mind
She said something like "the cheap ass rednecks here will just raid my field instead of going to the pot store". She was afraid she would have to put up a security fence with razor wire all around her acreage.

This is a friendly reminder that even if we do ever get federal legalization of cannabis there will still be conservative states that continue prohibit it and seek to maximize law enforcement and prison industry revenue with severe civil and criminal penalties.

Democracy? LOL NO DEMOCRACY IS AGAINST JEBUS!!

Farking conservatives, always the ones farking up civilisation for everybody. They're the same scumbags who brainwashed people : jazz is the devil's music, black people are evil, gays are evil, alcohol must be banned, interracial marriage is evil, etc...

They're the same shiatstains ruinning every muslim country, the ones who started isis, the ones who ran the crusades and oppressed women since humanity existed.

For the good of humanity, conservatives should be wiped off the map for good all around the world.

The great conservative genocide of the 2020-30s, if it were to happen, would be seen in the future as the beginning of the age of enlightenment 2.0.

Dry counties and in my state dry villages.

There are already areas that do just that.

Funny how right wingers are never fighting for those god given rights, oh wait that is right they just want to oppress people.

So? This is the way it should work in a federal system. Not every law needs to be nationwide, one size fits all. If local people want to ban something, more power to them.

I'm in a blue state and MAYBE this year its getting legalized here. Unfortunately here in Delaware most state level Democrats want to be like Biden so they are doing the pot is the devil routine. My state reps are under 40 and cool with pot as long as we tax the hell out of it and put the money into public schools and beach restoration.

And what are they conserving here?

Oh that's right, the racist voter suppression tool that replaced Jim Crow.

It's so good to see so many stalwart champions of the relics of opposition to civil rights, like these assholes, and Joe Manchin.

under the (ridiculous) reasoning that its wording implies that the initiative will somehow legalize weed federally.

Doesn't that mean they can just refile it?  What's even the point?

Don't do it, Florida. You'll end up a hellhole like Oregon with low cost, high quality weed that you can order online for curbside pickup. And pot shops are considered essential businesses, so they are unaffected by shut down orders. It's a total madhouse over here. Just the other day a stoned homeless guy offered me a cigarette and forgot to ask if I had any spare change. Do you want to live like that?

"The Happiest Place on Earth" is clearly false advertising because you can't have the happiest place on Earth without weed.

File a lawsuit against whichever corporation in Florida claims that about their place of business.

Exactly.

My take is if you make a ruling like this and it is struck down a level higher you get a demerit and after three are removed as a judge. If people keep having to fix your fark ups you shouldn't have your job.

We treat judges like they are above the scrutiny of making bad decisions and there needs to be a nation wide level that judges have to uphold to maintain the position.

In this case a decision this dumb flying in the face of a representative vote, it should be a shiat canning for any judges that shut it down.

If they have previous made statements about how if it reached them they would shut it down, well then we need take them to legal task for obstruction of justice and abuse of power.

Judges like the police are not some sacrosanct class of people and they need to remember they are our servants not our lords.

Let me know when there is a version of "Iowa Vice"

Florida has never, ever behaved reasonably or responsibly.

Iowa should get legal recreational pot before FL if only because of the 80's.
Which was still the fifties in Iowa.

Iowa is a fine state and Florida deserves to be sent to her room.
