I bought this stock for $68 back in 2008 and sold it in 2012 for $440 and it felt like a winning lottery ticket.  It's over $1400 now?  I just think that's insane that it keeps growing like this.  I don't know how they do it.  I think it's a fine product, but it's just a meh burrito.

Never underestimate that while you may want an authentic artisan burrito made in the back of an upholstery shop by an old lady from Zacatecas, most people just want a predictable burrito.

That people want a cheap, hot, predictable burrito doesn't surprise me. That with all the options out there for a burrito, that many people are willing to risk food poisoning does.

Growing from $440 in 2012 to $1400 now is probably under the return of the S&P500 over that time span. Chipotle isn't doing anything crazy over there.

It is Mexican but it is great for the strip mall chain meal. I am a happy frequent customer but the stock valuation makes no sense to me, open to explanations.

I hate their online ordering.  Both times I ordered the time quote was way off. Once, by 45 minutes.  I'll stick with the hole in the wall place a few miles away.

Have they split the stock?

If not, it explains the huge price.  EPS is around 12, that's probably it.

People are paying money to buy worthless currency like Dogecoin.  Surely a stock is worth more.....j/k.

It's not like you get anything if the company liquidated.  You get a proxy vote.  Woo farking hoo.  Stocks have as much value as Dogecoin.

We as a family started going a bit more recently.  It's pretty much the only chain we go to.  Everything else is local shops because we have good options near here and want to support those.

Reason we go to Chipotle?  Everything they hand you is compostable or biodegradable, with maybe the exception of the guac containers, and we decided to not get those.

There's very few places you can get take out these days that don't make you feel like half your order will wind up floating in a river somewhere.

Probably more important from an environmental standpoint to not eat meat, but that's a work in progress.  In the meantime, at least we aren't contributing to plastic waste.

Anyway, we pick it because when there's no local options, we can at least pick a place that pollutes less.
