First question to potential adopter: "Do you own an Oscar fish?"

Had an Oscar about 3 inches long.  I buy a 100 inch n a half feeders.  That guy (girl?) would Hoover down gold fish till they were sticking out his gills head first and had tails flapping out of his mouth.

They're not really made out of gold.

+1 for the headline subby. I laughed out loud in the break room and got funny looks.

To take one home you had to throw a ping pong ball.

Everyone around here knows if you leave your goldfish pond unwatched the herons will clean it out in five minutes.

Meh. My pond had 350 goldfish after 4 years starting with just 13 fish. It was too many for the size of the pond which is 20x30. Some 300 fish were allowed to freeze solid in shallow tanks. You cannot adopt out 300 goldfish and the pet stores will not take them due to concerns about disease.

Don't I wish. My man made rock lined 30,000 gallon pond was designed to discourage herons. No shallow edge for wading. The great blue herons land and walk around it but they haven't taken any fish. I'm trying to convince the wife to put a couple of largemouth bass in there to control the number of baby goldfish.
