So they said, "Make his body proportional to an old school Barbie doll so he can't conceivably have a digestive system but rockin' abs." That's what I did.

So is this going to be cannon, or is it going to be retconned into a new perpendicular dimensional rift so it never actually happened?

Just want to know if I should care like if Batman gets a new Robin, or if it is something I can forget about easily enough.

It's DC. Everything is canon. And nothing is without canon. It's only the manner in which it's canon that's up for debate.

I mean, what canon are you referring to? The "main" monthly releases? Because that storyline has been rebooted four, maybe five times. So by that logic nothing has been canon since like, 1950. You can't get bogged down in canon regarding DC comics. It's all canon in one way or another, making the concern worthless. Just enjoy the story of whatever dude is Superman this month and don't think about it so hard.

The glory of the multiverse.  It's all correct, you just have to be looking at the appropriate universe.

And if you screw up too badly, there's an infinite number of Barry Allens to break time and have things mixed up a bit to remove the mistakes.

Detective is Batman. I think Marvel's comic line is in general just as much of a mess as DC. They've all been rebooted multiple times and whenever someone finishes their run on a title all character growth/change is reset (with a very few exceptions).

But I thought Jon was already Superman in the Future State comics that DC had been pushing out?

I think he's making fun of the fact that DC actually stands for Detective Comics.  Making their name effectively Detective Comics Comics.
