Som lots of 2.0L Kia engines will soon be available for dune buggies and other low-use applications?

Turns out the hamsters were dancing because they were on fire.

I'm not sure if the reporter misunderstood the recall or there are two distinct issues in this recall campaign, but something seems off. The first part (piston rings) is pretty straightforward but the external fire risk is my issue. I wonder if Kia has found that when an engine locks up, it's throwing a rod/piston through the side of the engine and the resulting oil loss ignites on the exhaust.

"Kia said it's not aware of any fires or injuries related to the problem"

Sounds like although fire is theoretically a possibility, there have not been any fires.

I've been reliably informed on this very site that only EVs catch fire. Fake news. Sad.

Looks like we dodged a bullet by not pulling the trigger on a new Soul this year. Not like they had any decent color selections anywho. We'll see if the 2011 will make it to 1/4 million miles.
