Imagine running a fleet of a thousand 1984 Ford LTDs 24/7 for a month or so, and at the end of that it produced a string of random text. Take that string of text, put it in a JSON file along with an the internet address of a .jpg of Sonic and Shrek breastfeeding their newborn baby, Pikachu, and sell it to some techbro for five or six figures.

There's your NFT. You have jpg, a small text file with the token that was generated and a URL, and the hope that the person who owns the URL, usually the person who sold the NFT to you, keeps the website up indefinitely.

If it sounds like a scam, it's because it is.

I loved that sketch! And I think it's great that Eminem seems to view it with a sense of humor.
