They also are traditionally whip crackers to keep things under budget, and belts tightened since it's essentially their money, or the money the studio loaned to them. So they are perpetually ass holes.

Expect season 3's camerawork to be fuzzy and meandering without Rudin's asshole kissing the back of each cameraman's neck.

I'm still not 100% on what a producer does, let a lone an executive one. I know they help get funding for projects. Are they even involved in the actual creative process at all?
