The levels of suck were profound. Maybe that's what they really meant by winter-is-coming: several levels of suck.

Those poor children.

I still love her, but yeah...

I remember in Terminator: Genesis when she shouted "Get in soldier!" to Kyle Reese from the truck, that line delivery was so obscenely bad, and her face was so ridiculous as she said it, that it made me cringe hard enough I had to pause the movie for a second to process how anyone could've possibly allowed that to be the take that ended up in the final cut of the film.

May be the nicest person in the world, but her "acting" is cue card reading level.  Her acting is so bad she wouldn't be out of place in a Star Wars movie...wait...

That's on the director and editing team.
I mean, you saw the rest of the movie right? Alan Taylor is a far cry from James Cameron. I don't hold that movie against her any more than I do the final seasons of GoT.

Every actor I love has a stinker or two on the resume. I can't wait to see what Marvel's got in mind.

It's still amusing that some parents actually named their daughters Khaleesi or Daenerys.

Pretty sure the message that half of all Targaryens go homicidally insane was out there from the first season.

Exactly this.

If you watch the show from start to finish knowing what happens in the end, you plainly see what a psychopathic tyrant Dany is from the first season onward. People were ignoring her atrocities and cruelty because OOH COOL NEKKID DRAGON LADY and because she incidentally freed slaves along the way to building her army, which -- by the way -- is made up of thousands of people who rape and enslave their captured enemies and had every plan to do so under Dany's rule. She didn't care about the slaves; She was mad at the INSULT intended toward her by nailing slaves to posts. She didn't care about the slaves' freedom or love; She cared about the power it gave her and the army it helped her build.

At EVERY turn her first instinct is to murder people. Not just kill, but kill with prejudice. Every single time. And every time she is talked down from her murder spree by her advisors... Until she exiles, murders, or loses them, too.

People who were surprised by Dany being her father's daughter in the end were not paying attention and were ignoring who she was all throughout the series. The foreshadowing is so thick you need to bring a torch.

MCU casting so rarely misses, and their direction has been so on point I expect Emilia Clarke will be just fine in her role.

I think it's because Jai Courtney is such an unbelievably bad actor he sucks talent away from other actors.

This is the only real miss I can think of. If she was intentionally trying to act like she didn't care about whatever scene she was in then she definitely deserved an Oscar.

To be fair, Jorah and Barrister seemed genuine in their reassurance that she was a just, fair Queen that Westeros needed.  Didn't help that in the beginning, she was cruel to those that deserved it, like slavers and thieving warlocks.

Ed Norton too.  But that was more on him for being difficult to work with and trying to rewrite the movie so he was replaced.
I prefer Mark Ruffalo, but I can still kinda picture an MCU with Ed Norton still in that role.  Not sure he would have been able to pull off the comedy in Ragnarok as well as Ruffalo though.

Death to Smoochy was awesome. And he was in some other comedy w/ Ben Stiller, didn't do too badly.

But his Banner was more of a wise-ass than Ruffalo's slightly confused well-meaning scientist. It would have been interesting, but definitely a different vibe. Ruffalo nailed it for the MCU, the same way Downey and Evans did for their iconic characters. There are other people who could have done a good job, like Norton, but Ruffalo knocked it out of the park.

Jora, or the actor who played him would be better suited to the Lord of the Rings series from Amazon, as one of the proud Kings of men that Sauron corrupts, or even as Sauron in his human form, manipulating men and elfs to his own purposes.

She took the role because she wanted to work with Ken Branaugh. She would have bailed on the sequal if her contract allowed for it.

Ghost has been a member of multiple different Thunderbolts teams in the comics. Just saying. She definitely seems to get left out when talking about that team forming in the MCU.

Not_Todd: Serious question: would you rather live in a Westeros ruled by Daenerys or Joffrey?

Well, I guess it depends where you are on the mountain of shiat. Neither option is particularly great... but I think I would prefer Daenerys. That's what my gut tells me. If she has people around her that she can trust to give her good advise, and if she is smart enough to take it, I think she makes the better ruler. That was seen prior to her face/heel turn. Joffrey was by all accounts a little shiat who would do whatever he wants and damn the consequences. He would rule the ashes (as said re: Littlefinger). Though he did have *one* good point - Westeros needed a strong standing army to protect it's borders and people. Though his method of doing so would involve invading and defeating the North, and then conscripting them which would lead to rebellion in the future.

Joffrey.  He's very personal with his brutal treatment of people.  I'd choose the prettiest of the land's convicted female criminals to serve him so he'd have a handful of people to torture, and the rest of the nation would more or less go about its business.

Daenerys could drop by anywhere at any time with her dragons to melt you, everything around you, and everyone you ever loved because she's upset about something you have no control over.
