He died and Krispy Kreme almost collapsed. I don't believe it's a coincidence.

I've always assumed that he and Barry White are in a perpetual afterlife Ragnarok.

How incompetent does upper management have to be to nearly run something like Krispy Kreme into the ground?

What Krispy Kreme's current upper management might look like:

(To be fair to Shaq, it's doing MUCH better now than it was right after Vandross's death... give or take the occasional fire.)

He was the Sinatra of soul to me. Others have very similar tone, but his phrasing and inflection were typically pretty spot on. He could certainly whip out vocal acrobatics, but his choices were good, and generally didn't jump all over the scale just to show he could. His music can drop a girl's drawers all the way to the floor, and for this I salute and thank him.

How many pounds would he have been?

It is also Iggy Pop's birthday, if you're into contrast. Well. even if you aren't, it's still his birthday.

/And Queen Elizabeth too.

Luther had a beautiful voice.  But MARVIN GAYE was the creme de la creme.  Frankie Beverly wrote "Silky Soul Singer" about Marvin.  Teena Marie wrote "My Dear Mr. Gaye"  for Marvin.  Listen to his "Just To Keep You Satisfied", beautiful, mournful, soulful song.

Luther, Teddy, and Barry could make a women's panties wet but Marvin made you drown in your own juices.

\\\honorable mention Eddie and Gerald Levert.
