Classic opening titles? What's going on?

"The perfect movie."

I think they missed an opportunity to have fun with the 90s time travel aspect but instead just used it to have another heart to heart talk.

I hate losing faith in shows I used to love (LOST, Walking Dead, Flash) but I'm at the point I dread watching the show because it's not what it used to be (and should be) anymore.  It's homework just in case I need to understand what's happening in a crossover.

I know it's not supposed to be Masterpiece Theater,  but still!

I think I lost patience with The Flash with the introduction of Savitar, maybe FlashPoint.

/Don't get me started on Supergirl - DC thinks it not only knows the answer to the trolley problem, but that there isn't a moral quandary at all: you do not throw the switch, ever. Marvel at least struggles with it.

Just quit watching. I mean, if you don't enjoy it, why are you watching?

I gave up on "Flash" at the beginning of the third season. I mean, the 2nd season was a major letdown, but I figured I'd give them a chance to redeem themselves. They didn't. And I've read a few synopses of the later seasons, and it sounds like it just keeps getting dumber.

It's too bad. The first season was really fun!

And I have to mention Iris. Iris is the worst character in any show, ever. The character of Iris is just awful. She's Scrappy-Doo levels of awful. One of the fundamental problems with that show has *always* been Iris.

That's certainly a defensible thesis.

Listen, I get it.  But I can't quit a show.  I watched ALL of LOST and I'm STILL watching Walking Dead.  I don't enjoy Walking Dead at all.  It's homework.
I'm not enjoying Flash at ALL.  You're absolutely right.  Iris IS awful.
I'm surprised the actress hasn't complained.  She's a young woman!!  They right her like a 60 year old sage grandmother!!!  Just terrible!!!

But  yeah, it's an OCD thing or something.  I've stuck with a show this long I HAVE to see it through to the end!

The  Flash will course correct back to season one for 2-3 episodes but then it is back to the Arrow-forumla of lying to protect someone, the hero brooding he has to save everyone and they introduce a new not-cool Wells. They have good episodes and ideas but the show but they never seem to be able to pull it together.

I think part of the problem, is the Flash just does not have the budget to be the show it was in the first season. The cast has grown big, everyone has CGI superpowers they forget to use. Also Flash has become so OP, the villains become too OP themselves or are not real threats.

The fact that nearly every single opponent he comes across is able to hit him, shoot him, dodge him, just gets ridiculous.  I guess it would be boring if he disarmed everyone before they fought but damn

That brought me to this season but I just can't bring myself to care anymore. Also I do not like any of the new characters.

Then they rarely keep the non-speed villians around or mcguffin their advantage away. Or in the case of the Super-smart villain, he became so super-smart The Flash could not win, which is again boring.

Hmm, the CW app didn't show a new episode of The Flash, so I assumed the headline just meant it was a repeat this week.

Kara nearly got herself out of the Phantom Zone, until her new imp friend betrayed them.  Pity, I liked her.  Then the whole tower blew up.. so the imp is gone.. and Kara's father?  Buried alive?

Back on Earth, the Superfriends managed to beat the Phantom problem, but it took everything they had.  Consequences for the whole planet could have been quite dire.  Lena's still feeling like an outsider, but Alex won't give up on her.

So.. Midvale high school... and time travel?  Without involving The Flash, I guess Brainy will need to contact his 31st century buddies.

Yeah, I roll my eyes at the number of times he gets brought down by normal human being when he could simply run up and bop them on the head, but I accept it because there would be no show otherwise.

But MY issue is the fact he LOSES his speed almost every season, for months at a time.  There was a good stretch there where he had no speed, Cisco has given up being Vibe for some stupid reason (yet now he has artificial Vibe powers (that always break when convenient), Frost didn't want to be Frost anymore so all we had was Dibney and he only used HIS powers off-screen (you would hear the sound guys squeak a balloon into a microphone so you knew Ralph was stretching something).

I get a show like this having a smaller budget, every week doesn't have to be an FX extravaganza, but when you watch a superhero show and there are no superheroes, and all you get is love story heart-to-heart talks and soap opera drama???  Arrow did this for a little too.  He gave up being Green Arrow so we got to watch the adventures of Renee with a baseball bat for a couple of month!

That is my OTHER complaint and I don't GET it.  When I used to watch TV shows, there were stars of the TV show and that is who the show was about.  The main cast didn't leave for weeks at a time ("on vacation in Atlantis or whatever nonsense")
Sam Malone on Cheers didn't "go on vacation" so this week will be all about the old guy that sat in the back corner of the bar!
Ross is in a coma, so this episode of Friends will focus solely on Gunther and his attempt to buy an umbrella.

Flash has a list of main characters who leave SO OFTEN (where is Cisco going every other week??) and they focus episodes on Allegra (really??) and Cisco's girlfriend??  Or they introduce Chester and in a week or 2 I'm supposed to care deeply about his flawed relationship with his father??

I like Cecile, but it's like she's the only one who WANTS to be there anymore so SHE'S solving all the crimes!

I've ranted way too much about this silly little CW show.

Just pretend it's on FOX and got canceled before they finished the story, like every other scifi show on FOX.

I liked Flash more before time travel was his primary superpower.

On The Flash, I'm waiting for when John Diggle shows up, with this green ring that he found last year.  I heard he'll be on The Flash first, then visit all the other Arrowverse shows.

In the old days the contracts did not allow for much time away from the show/movie. I do not mind so much the actors taking a break to do another project, but you are right it is happening a lot and worse it is not being written very well and the new characters are not picking up the slack and again I put that on the writers, not the talent.

The problem is the original team Flash was one of those perfect castings, were everyone brought their A game and you cannot imagine another else in those roles.

That is why I am also disappointed in the legends. It was just a fantastic show with great characters. Now these Z list characters, I don't know if Zari and her brother are even in DC comic characters or originals for the show?

But Gary?  Astra?  Even Sara's girlfriend, Who I'm drawing a blank on her name, these are not names that would get people to watch the show.

We had the Atom, Hawkman and Hawkgirl (though they were the worst part of it)  Captain cold and heat wave, rip Hunter, firestorm!
Fun DC characters that made the show so bizarre and wacky.

Now.... ((shrug))

I believe everyone you mentioned are show creations but I cared about them (except Gary) and enjoyed watching them even when the budget didn't allow superpowers.

AVA!  That was her name! Jesus, just came to me.

I didn't mind the individual characters as they were added here and there but the show was originally marketed as these D-Lister misfits of the DC universe traveling through time together.

When you were remove almost every DC character it becomes something else.

Don't get me wrong, it's still the most enjoyable/fun show to watch on TV and I can't wait for it to come back.
I'm just saying I don't see why they can't do what they've been doing with DC characters again instead of original creations
