Must be from the 600 million illegals that flooded Biden's "Open Borders(TM)"

So almost 1/3 of the population of the entire country works in Georgia?

Hey, Chuck, time to go back to tweeting about pigeons

I can only presume, for Chuck's sake, he meant to say $100,000,000 of economic activity.  Even then it would be a stretch.

But why does the Senator from Iowa care about the lost economic activity in Georgia anyway?*

/*This is rhetorical

2021-04-20 12:20:52 PM
I believe somebody said it would cost Georgia $100 million dollars, not 100 million jobs.  He just misspoke.

Now, even $100 million dollars seems high, but meh.

We don't have elder care in America. We just put them in elected office until they die.

2021-04-20 12:36:20 PM
There are 10 million people in Georgia. I knew I did a lot of stuff for work, but apparently I held 10 jobs. Oh, well, guess I'll go apply for unemployment.

They moved to Atlanta looking for work after the Keystone pipeline left them unemployed.

He should be leering at a young waitress at a local diner and complaining that his eggs aren't runny enough because liberals regulate retail food.

Instead, he's addressing the Senate as an elected official.

Republican math.

OldRod: So almost 1/3 of the population of the entire country works in Georgia?

I was gonna say, that's almost ten times the state's population.

I don't think baseball employs 100 million people nationwide even if you include vendors and their suppliers and the like.

100 million dollars whatever.  The MLB didn't cost Georgia that.  Georgia cost Georgia that.  People and organizations withholding money and favors from you for the things you did is not their fault.

Now get going with that boycott of your own.

2021-04-20 1:09:51 PM
I really wish we didn't have to care what his syphilitic brain was spewing, but he is a senator for some farking reason.

To paraphrase slightly (and leaving out the error on how many jobs):

The cruelty is the point. Stop passing evil laws to hurt people and private businesses and citizens will stop trying to hurt you in return.

2021-04-20 1:12:21 PM

theteacher: 488,800 is the population of Atlanta.

That means it will cost each one of their residents 204.5 jobs. Tragic.

2021-04-20 1:12:47 PM
100 jobs, 100 million jobs, $10 or $100 million it doesn't matter. The Georgia legislature did something that others found disagreeable and there were repercussions. That's just naive. We sanction countries and forbid business from doing business there for far less.

Every time the Republicans jump on every Biden slip and claim he is too old, they need to take a long hard look into the mirror.

PirateKing: They all work in one of the 57 states.

He's reading from a prepared statement, not speaking off the cuff. To be as charitable as possible, it's a typo - but that implies 10 or 1 million jobs, both of which are still impossibly wrong.

Someone wrote down a number and clearly did not care one jot if it was realistic, let alone true.

It's not in Atlanta.  It's in Cobb County.

On the plus side, the Cobb County was swindled so well by Liberty Media that now they won't be on the hook for $2M in security that they would have had to provide for the All Star Game.

It's because everybody in Georgia has to work 10 jobs, and MLB has shut down the economy of the entire sate.

Right?

A mandatory retirement age across all branches and offices of federal government would do the world a lot of good.

Granted, Grassley's replacement would probably be an even more cornfed version of Josh Hawley, but still.

Well, aside from his inability to math, he's talking about how the jobs are so low-paying (as well as seasonal) that everybody has to have 3 or 4 of them to make a living.

Mr.Uncle.Bill: Why do we have minimum age limits on holding office, but not maximum?  Yes, even Joe is too old IMHO.

Took my boy to the DMV to get his license this morning, I was lectured and scolded for three hours about how 7 year-olds can't operate motor vehicles. I said 'you take that ageist pinko crap back to East Germany where it belongs, commie-dante!' then they tasered me and took my boy away.
