No, it's blood, I just accidentally checked. Again.

End up drinking a lot of it though.

COVID vaccine doesn't go into a blood vessel, it's intramuscular. That's why it makes your arm sore. You're welcome.

This also happened at a Walgreens in North Carolina in March. The error was detected and everybody came back for the correct injection.

"Our internal quality assurance processes allowed us to identify this issue in a timely manner and contact the impacted individuals to disclose the issue."

... And bring them back ASAP for a real vaccine, yes?

They mix the 5g chips with the actual vaccine prior to injection. In this case they messed up and didn't add the vaccine, but don't worry, the chips are in place and functioning normally.

While I understand that most pharmacies practiced with saline, I'm having trouble understanding how you can confuse room temperature saline with cold vaccine. It's not even like the two have the same markings on their vials.

If they gave me saline solution instead of the vaccine I'd be a little salty about it all.

If only there were some sort of link to a location that contained information directly about the subject. We could call it a hyperlink, and the page could be called an "article".

Upon reading the "article", people would then be able to get clarity and understanding about how the thing at hand happened.

the six people were injected with saline, which is used to dilute the COVID-19 vaccine prior to use, on March 28.

They skipped a step.

I'd like to hear from SFSailor!

Ha!  Thanks for the summons. : )  Sincerely hope you're doing well and staying safe and sane, and, if not already, are soon vaccinated.  Maybe by this time next year, we'll manage to get you out on the Bay!  Knock wood.  A bunch more things have to go right for that to happen, so it's a nice thing to look forward to.

As for injections, saline or not, I usually warn 'em that they have to be really quick or the needle will rust before they're done.  But thanks to the plague, it's been so long that my blood:seawater ratio is all out of whack... might even be getting close to normal again. : (  Stupid plague.  Hope I can get to work on that before the summer's over.  We'll see.

Hooray!  Glad to hear it.  Best thing about 2021 is seeing more and more reports of vaccinations.  Doesn't make up for 2020, but at least we're moving in the right direction.

Username does not check out.  But in an acceptable way.  I guess.

Where?  Care to share, so we can all live vicariously?  Once this is all over and we're back to sailing with new crew again (so, maybe summer of 2022?), I'm always looking for people who want to go out on the SF Bay, if you're ever 'round these parts.

Stay safe.  Hope it's a great trip!

So while I'm getting ready in the morning, I'll turn on one of the local stations which is always playing multiple L&O reruns for half the day.  This morning, the villain was selling counterfeit flu vaccines, which led to several immunocompromised people dying of a very preventable illness.  Turns out, the vials were filled with straight up saline solution instead.

I'm beginning to think about starting a Fark account with the handle ThereALawAndOderEpisodeForThat.

Lol, skiing shut down 2 weeks ago cause snow melts and mud isn't any fun. I can teach sailing too, but this is a trip with old friends purely for the fun of it...

If I didn't get a real Pfizer #2 on Saturday then I'm somehow allergic to saline.  It REALLY pfarked me the pfark up.  High fever, aches, chills, nausea, just about every side effect except for the one side effect that wouldn't bother me a bit - a sore arm.

Nobody I know had the problems I HAD WITH SHOT 2, and i'd do it again.

To be pedantic, our blood IS saltwater, with extra bits floating in it.

You reconstitute a vial with 1.8mL of saline, then you're supposed to draw from that vial six shots of 0.3mL each.

How this particular error happened, I have no idea.

NotThatGuyAgain: Nobody I know had the problems I HAD WITH SHOT 2,

Moderna #2 was gnarly. Caused Spouse to have to take the day off, but it farked me up royally. Every side effect under the sun AND I also got the big red boiling arm welt. Spouse thinks my insane reaction means I'd have been one of those poor bastards that Covid killed, which is probably true.

>i'd do it again.

Me too. I'm worried there's enough of these antivaxxer dumbshiats that one of them is going to bake up a mutation that starts killing kids.
