The price may seem higher for the addict who prostitutes for a fix than it is for the addict who merely lies to a doctor, but ultimately both pay with their lives. Insanity is repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results.

Republican: "if you're shooting at each other inside the tent."

Hey guys perhaps we are being too hasty in wanting to implement rational gun control.  Maybe let this play out.

If you thought Trump was a good person to vote for you were already broken.  Madness is not far away.

They're already back on the "how dare you call us racists" thing...I wonder how long it will be before they're back on "liberals are so emotional" thing.

There's no evidence of election fraud in Georgia. Even so, the party rank and file is fixated on it - even if it costs them in the midterms.

Good!  Let them whinge and cry and bloviate about it through the mid-terms.  Let them taste even further defeat.

Fta: "Huge mistake," she said of the hostilities directed at Kemp and the reliving of 2020. "We've got to get out of this mindset. It's almost like insanity."

Smart enough to recognize that snake eating its own tail isn't a viable political strategy but still dumb enough to be a Republican?

To some people, the lack of evidence is the strongest evidence there is.

And by "some people" I mean "very, very stupid people."

These people are terrifying in their ignorance. And people who claim themselves to be moderate Republicans for the same ones who didn't put out this fire when it was the tea baggers. Now they have the total cult of personality that is the Trump supporter. And you can't reason with Trump supporters. They are pretty much the most disgusting vermin that has been spewed upon this Earth in 40 years.

The voting restrictions really constitute a declaration of civil war and we will be regretting the fact that we haven't sent troops to arrest these GOP domestic terrorists.

Mitt Romney had carried Cobb County by nearly 13 percentage points in 2012. Four years later, Trump lost the county to Hillary Clinton by about 2 points, and four years after that, he was clobbered by more than 14 percentage points. Over the span of eight years, it marked a 27-point swing against the Republican nominee.

Where's this ultimately leading? They are simply not going to see reason, stop hating, or start behaving like peaceful rational people. The "left" is not going anywhere. In fact, it will get larger and more penned in by gerrymandering.

If the GOP is becoming the American Taliban (they probably already are) what's coming? They've already stormed your Capital once.

You know, when Liberals complained about Russian interference in the 2016 election they had evidence.
There were members of Trump's campaign that were in touch with the Russian government, Russians were affiliated with a variety of online communities, and there was a lot of money that had no name tag attached.

I can't help but think to compare the situations in which these clowns draw the same comparison between the 2016 and 2020 elections and think that Liberals trying to show how farked up Trump's election was is the same as them talking about Trump being appointed by God, secretly still president, head of some kind of impossibly large sting operation, and that Joe Biden (a person who had been immensely popular for almost his entire life in public service) is so unpopular that there is no way he could have legitimately beaten their avatar of Mammon, lord of snakes and lies.

Exactly! They're fixated on election fraud because they have nothing else to motivate voters. It becomes exceedingly fragile if not everyone participating agrees to The Rules, so to speak - including agreeing upon a common baseline of truth. Like, for example, "Joe Biden won a free and fair election"

That's the thing. There is no "free" or "fair" when one side's political existence is predicated upon inequity and subjugation (and willingness to be subjugated) of themselves and others. It's amazing how willing "grassroots" GOPers are to vote against their interests and to perpetuate systems that keep them down...all in the name of their freedom. At the same time, a growing number of non-GOPers are saying "fark you!" to all that.

The thing about this tack of theirs is that, because of how the GOP operates, this isn't a claim they can back down from -- not in any way they are at all comfortable with anyway. They can't just say, "You know, on second thought, maybe there wasn't fraud and Biden won fair and square."  They've made the claims, they've said they have evidence (even though they won't show it), they've doubled, tripled, quadrupled, and octupled down. They've walled themselves in.  This is their platform now.  They've played themselves good, and frankly, it's farking hilarious.

That's always the response and I always say, do not underestimate or misdiagnose republicans. They pretend to be stupid to obfuscate their evil.  Stupid people can be good people. Republicans cannot.

Yep. I was still surprised they made that explicit in 2020 by choosing to have no national party platform.

The consultants and the insiders will undoubtedly attempt to shift the focus toward a message that we can all agree, like we're not Biden-Harris, and so let's just focus on that.

Yes, because that strategy worked so well in 2004 and 2012. Proceed!
