That's the episode that 8 year old Pehvbot learned he had a thing for smart and sarcastic communications officers. I'm guessing many a lad learned a similar lesson about shirtless swashbuckling helmsmen.

I love being Asian. We look at least 15 years younger than our actual age.

My Wife had dinner with him at a commemoration of the Japanese Internment during dub dub deuce and was nice to her.

/I'm a pre-Voyager trekkie so I always liked him.

Got to see him speak in Boulder, CO a few years ago.  It was on the topic of the rise of more open and obvious white supremacists, racism in America and Japanese internment in WWII.  It was an impressive talk.

I love being African American for the same reason. We're the ones who came up with the sayin' "Black Don't Crack!"

I love you being Asian too.

Now, (insert condescending fast-food request joke here, that somebody would take seriously and get offended, and then think I'm actually racist).

I was born in 1952 so I'm Team ST:OS!

However, I was an adult before I got to see the show in color as we couldn't afford a color TV and our black & white TV worked just fine. Mom didn't buy one until the late 70s when her B & W model was beyond repair and color TV prices had dropped enough that she could afford one.

One of the reasons I get pissed about people hand waving the internment camps is that there are still living Americans who were imprisoned there and forced to sign what was essentially an admission of guilt to get their families out

One of the things Mr. Takei said was the play Allegiance was written because he wanted to reach people on the topic of internment on an emotional level.  You can explain all you want, but he wanted to go for the heart.
