They better be careful.  Nanny state republicans may take away their desserts in the cafeteria if they act up too much.

As someone now living in Minneapolis I am more concerned about the police brought in from Ohio and Nebraska than the National Guard presence here - as uneasy as it is seeing soldiers armed with machine guns and driving around in humvees all over town. I would like to think that the NG would show a little more restraint than the thugs in blue.

The military has rules and some accountability.

Not for my lai type stuff, but domestically.

This the view outside my Dad's work in Saint Paul right now. It is pretty brave to do do Civil Disobedience against an Occupying Military Force.

Yeah, as an ohioan I am not pleased with the state police being used as mercenaries to get around judges rulings.

Too bad you can't call them No Goes anymore.  Cause you could chant No Go Go!  Of course the ladies down at the Drunk Kitty Go Go Lounge would think it's about them.  Attention whorelettes

Well.  I was supposed to do SharePoint today but I think I'll GIS white go go boots and fringe mini skirts.

No. Don't be an ass. High School kids are looking at having to get out there and live in a world they are about to inherit and many of them give a damn. Sure, it's a mix of people that includes some who don't quite get it. Maybe you were one of those and didn't realize that some of your peers were a bit more savvy. But a solid 35% know what they're facing and have the skills to lead their inspire their fellows. And it's good for them to do so.

I absolutely believe that, yes. Because riots have gotten sh*t done throughout history when the system doesn't want to, and because human life is more important than your stuff.

Funny how the usual suspects keep breaking out the "looting" nonsense when it was a Boogaloo Brat that burned down the police station, and a white guy holding an umbrella and a gas mask breaking the CVS windows.

For as much as you seem to focus on "legal consequences" of rioters and looters, you'd think you'd show as much concern for legal consequences of the constant murder and genocide of Black citizens by police.

I wonder why THOSE particular "legal consequences" never come up with people like you.

Yes, people being destructive, beit to property or people, should be prosecuted.  Regaurdless of category of person.

That doesnt negate a person's/peoples right to petition

The system should have thought of that when it routinely denies justice.

Anything that happens during a riot is the fault of the system that denied justice.

Interesting, your post denies agency to both the protesters and the people making the poor decisions that lead to injustice.

If you're going to claim you want accountability, stop using language that gives the responsibility into unaccountable groups.

This is dumb. No reasonable person in Minneapolis should want the National Guard to go home. Nobody wants their city burned down, whether by Boogaloo Boys or BLM.

Be glad they're there while at the same time being pissed the situation demands it.

That Boogaloo boy wasn't charged for arson, he was arrested for shooting a gun into the building as it burned down.   4 local peaceful protesters were instead charged with arson.
