JFC that thing has the aerodynamics of a halfheartedly wadded up tissue.

Don't get me started on the exhaust. There's no way that thing makes 500HP through that mess.

the cult sci-fi series Star Trek

Maybe in 1966, but not any more since syndication in the 70s

The Enterprise fought off Klingons and the Borg as Kirk sought out new life and new civilisations.

Shatner is not Patrick Stewart.

That was the first thing I thought.  When did Kirk encounter the borg.

In "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", Spock said that when he mind-melded with V'Ger, he saw "a planet populated by living machines with unbelievable technology.", which some theorize to have been the Borg homeworld. He even says that "any show of resistance would be futile" during another scene.

Otherwise Shatner's constant companions on his adventures are two dobermans called Macchiato and Espresso, ferried around in a Mercedes-AMG ML63. "They've wrecked the car - even the seatbelts in the back have been chewed to bits."

Train your farking dogs! Sheesh!

Trikes are not motorcycles.
And apparently this thing is especially terrible, even for a trike.

For realz tho, if you make a custom trike that can't handle turns, you have failed Captain Kirk for the last time

Usually I can appreciate the effort that has gone into a custom vehicle even if I don't like it. This thing though, the coolest thing about it is the fact that Shatner drove it. I must be in a bad mood this week.

I'm gonna guess it's actually a 500 cubic inch Caddy motor and not 500hp. Almost surprised they didn't halfway throw some turbos at it then claim it's 1,000hp. Either way something like that isn't built for performance. It's built to get trailered somewhere then parked while everybody oohs and ahhs to raise money for charity. Which they found out when trying to actually ride it for very long.
