What, don't you like symbolic PR moves that ultimately mean nothing beyond attempting to placate people against a potential primary challenge?

Oh yeah, she doesn't want to be a Senator, she wants a high-paying cushy job in the private sector.  She grew up dirt poor (so she says, at least) and wants money more than anything else.

Yes.

https://www.axios.com/senate-democrats-tax-rate-biden-63190a59-0436-40d9-a8a3-fa21ef616412.html

The universe of Democratic senators concerned about raising the corporate tax rate to 28% is broader than Sen. Joe Manchin, and the rate will likely land at 25%, parties close to the discussion tell Axios.

You're probably thinking of Martha McSally. She lost the 2018 AZ senate race against Sinema, then got appointed by Ducey to fill John McCain's seat until the special election where she lost it to Mark Kelly.

Both of Arizona's democratic senators have now proven rather disappointing. I'm beginning to suspect that's all that are electable in this state.

Same here.  But utterly disappointed at the same time that they only proposed raising it to 28% and that's STILL going to get whittled down.

Reminds me of the Obama Administration.

"WE WILL REVERSE THE BUSH TAX CUTS"

Then they get elected and it's "We will reverse SOME of the Bush Tax Cuts but we're also going to make some permanent".

The Republicans take two steps back and the Dems then take one little step forward.

same as it ever was

I don't think messaging is the issue here. The public supports raising corporate taxes. The donors are the ones that don't like it.

I think this is giving him cover to kill the filibuster. It won't be for HR1 or the JLVRA, it'll be this if anything.

West Virginia's pro-labor history is immense, and the UMWA just came out backing renewable energy initiatives.

Kelly will sign off. Sinema will back down. Not sure what Warner's angle is.

We can and should do both.

But our government is full of people who don't want to do either, for fear of ruining the gravy train.

As someone that was a Buttigieg supporter during the primary.. anyone that said that was a farking moron. Maybe they might get more progressive stuff DONE, but there's no question Sanders would have the more ambitious agenda.

Well - a blue dog with a sense of self-preservation who smells which way the wind blows might very well decide to change his stripes - but It would need to see consistent hard proof over time before I'd trust Manchin.

Yeah, its unlikely that the two candidates to recently win Senate seats don't have some insight into the electorate. Hopefully, if Kelly can get elected for a full term he gets a bit more brave. Sinema looks like she is going to be a fungus that the state will need to get much bluer to uproot.

Legalizes sympathy strikes.  Keeps employers from having mandatory meetings to discuss employer side of argument.  Restates worker whistleblower protections.

Gets rid of Right to Work nationwide.
