Wow, they just showed the animation from the rover's cam.

Pointy Tail of Satan: The real reason the helicopter hasn't flew:

"Flown"

I'll use this opportunity to point out a particularly egregious misuse of that irregular verb:

... no evidence of inlet channels where water could have flown into the crater ...

I know there's a lot going on in the world to be entertained by, horrified at (lookin' at you, Main tab... damn) and more. But holy smokes this is historic in so many ways. Makes me want to shake people and yell, "If you're not astounded, you need to learn more about this!"

Then again, I'm a total nerd. Then again again, this is FARK. I thought we all were.

Well

I trust a probe from some other star system more than an earthling created drone.

The other world probes havent caused death/destruction, that i know of.

Eathly drones on the other hand.....

The first three people I saw today at work I excitedly told them about it. Astonishingly, they had actually heard something about the whole current Mars mission, which shocked me considering the news cycle.

Why this isn't the biggest headline around the world today is mystifying.

This remarkable event of flying a machine on another planet achieved by the incredible determination and genius of a team of engineers, will be over shadowed in a news cycle full of violence and chaos of small minded fools.
