I like this. There is a way to incorpate effective and beautiful design into everything. Why shouldn't books' covers be works of art, themselves?

Soooooo... if you're not on Instagram, that means no one can judge you.

This is hardly anything new. I remember an article in a book written about 40 years ago that paperback artwork was designed on the principle that most books would be sold based on the impression formed by a one second glance at the best seller section of an airport newsstand.

It's doubtless older than that. The phrase refers to the earlier years of printing, when books were sold as unbound stacks of paper. Each stack had a completely blank page on top as a cover to protect it from dust, wear and sun damage.

Hahaha, this is the instagram age, nobody READS!

Ok, I read.  Actually read the book summary too.

Am...I old?

I always foudn the phrase "can't judge a book by its cover" was clearly an out of date phrase no longer applicable once we achieved cheap to make full color art prints for book covers.

If we really lived by the idea, why would anyone pay anyone else anything to design the books' cover art?
Pretty sure if we paid a pro designer for that then it ought to be communicating important info about the nature of the book to help the potential buyer/reader make a more informed decision than a blank cover with no art work.
