My understanding is that gun violence research by the CDC is being funded, allowed, etc.? At the very least we can actually do science instead of politics with this?

Police shootings are going up every year. You can look it up.

Not sure is contagious.

Id bet it has more to do with a lot of people being at the end of their rope with untreated mental health issues that get compounded by pandemic isolation

I mean its something that would be easily solved with mental health issues not being so taboo voodoo and more avaliable and economically accessable, but thats commie talk there right

"Mental health issues" are not taboo anymore. It's a category that include psychosis as well as anxiety and depression. By including anxiety and depression in the same category, it amkes them look caused by internal variables instead of external ones. Employers love it when theya re not repsonsible for depression and anxiety, and th harms they do to people can become another revenue stream for various companies. "Mental health issues" is a phrase that externalizes the costs of doing business, forcing wage slaves to take those costs on.

Its not easy.

Up 76% so far... compared to the year we ALL STAYED HOME because of Covid.

How much you want to bet that all of the following are also up?

In-restaurant dining
bowling
speeding tickets
parking tickets
jay walking
and of course - the number of people going to the hospital to get vaccinated.

At least compare it to 2 years ago you morons that do not deserve to be a journalist.

Comparing year over year? This time last year we were all locked down. There wasn't anyplace to shoot up.

Well... bullets do have near-instantaneous airborne transmission within hundreds of feet and are capable of penetrating cell walls. That's about as bad as it gets for contagion.

Other countries still have issues with mental health.

What they don't have an issue with is guns.

The guns are the problem.

This one is worth looking at. Into the 20th century the idea was that the streets were for all. The automobile industry spent a farkton of money pushing the idea that they belonged to cars alone. Lobbied hard to create the crime of "jaywalking", jay being an n-word level insult for uneducated rural people. One of the nice things about the pandemic is that people have been using the streets for something other than cars

Must be all the violent video games everyone was playing while on lockdown.

So the rise in shootings is caused by RWNJ who initially thought they were owning the libs the last four years but in fact got owned in November and then again in January 6th.

And now in their butthurtery they are taking it out on their fellow People of Walmart.

Is that about right?
