Raise your hand if you are stupid enough to believe any film coming out of China, much less one explicitly being a propaganda film.

Why is no one shocked at the "convenient" timing of the release of this in china?

You know how I know you didn't read the article? The six mostly ended up in the UK, but got deported because the British were as racist as you

Ssh. This was produced by James Cameron, written and directed by two other guys from the US. Clearly this is a propaganda piece.

It doesn't matter who the filmmaker is or who the actors are.

The Chinese film board overrules them to ensure Chinese movies present whatever story they want. They don't just have powers of censorship, but also authorial control. They do exercise a lighter touch on 'foreign' films like this, largely because they don't want Chinese citizens abroad to discover that there could be two versions of a movie, but make no misteak about Chinese cinema.

You do know that China is a communist country, right? That to legally do business in China, you need to partner with the Chinese government, which is why a "company" like Tencent has huge shares in everything? It doesn't matter who the filmmaker is.

Oh I got you fam.

'Within 24 hours of their arrival at the immigrant inspection station in Ellis Island, New York, they were expelled from the country because of the Chinese Exclusion Act, a controversial law that barred the immigration of Chinese people into the US.'

This documentary details the racism they experienced in both Britain and the US; I can see why you must assume it's all lies. There was no Chinese Exclusion Act, the US has never been racist and it's all propaganda made up by those dishonest Chinese.

CCP propaganda is more believable than anything the US government  was releasing for the past four years. And historical movies are NEVER actual history, even when accurate.

I am kind of impressed that five Chinese men (one was rescued in the water) were allowed on the lifeboats.  Western society may have been anti-Asian at the time but I guess whoever organized those lifeboats wasn't.

Well, the article seems contradictory. It said they were enroute to the Caribbean in one part. So, why would they have been turned back from an immigration processing point when they were not immigrating to the US? Anybody with access to Google can find out where the survivors were taken and what happened to them when they dissembarked from the Carpathia.

Also, how much luck would they have needed to be the only 8 of the 52 on their ticket to survive AND the 8 names just happen to be listed together on that ticket? And where did this "ticket" come from? The passenger manifest was lost and the crew of the Carpathia had to generate one for the survivors they picked up but the ticket survived?
