Amateurs. I messaged my boss last night begging him to fire me.

I will for once in my life collect unemployment.

I was never messaged back. But did get one guy fired yesterday for wasting my farking time on site.

Sorry Bud, but it sounds like you are still employed. Sucks to be you...

For what it is worth, I had a conversation with an ex-boss who had fired me 3 months before in which I apologized for not having quit 6 months earlier because the company/management sucked so bad that I should have moved on before they had the need/desire to do so.
I was talking about him, and he agreed.

Life/employment is weird.

We didn't exactly fire him. He just isn't getting a paycheck anymore so these things have a way of working themselves out.

Thanks for reminding me to do my time card!

Nah I'll get paid. I'm currently in possession of some expensive equipment for a jobsite.

No pay equals expensive machinery getting sold. And it's not even signed out to me.

Cause the guy it's signed out to has a court mandated Hollywood bracelet and broke his ankle.

Actually Subby, if you get rats drunk and have them run a maze: (and which of us doesn't spend our time doing that?) They won't remember how they ran the maze. But if you get them drunk again, they will.

"Vanessa Rissetto, a registered dietitian nutritionist and founder of Culina Health, explains that your body tends to start storing food as fat when it's forced to metabolize the sugars in the alcohol, turn it into ethanol and move it away from the bloodstream."

This is so wrong. I would not trust her classes. Ethanol already is alcohol and it has no sugar to metabolize. The mitochondria in each of our cells, which are separate organisms from ourselves, which have their own DNA, and are responsible for doing everything our cells need to live. Yes, only some 10% of the DNA in our body is our own. Our body is like a zoo keeper. Millions of years ago, mitochondria did fine living off of ethanol from yeast before they were assimilated into a cellular structure to the slave life of living off glucose.. They enjoy ethanol. They are forced to metabolize it like people are forced to metabolize chocolate cake. The first part of her statement is true in a perverse way. The mitochondria will party and enjoy ethanol like a fillet and disregard the glucose like gruel and store that for later as fat. Alcohol is metabolized by alcohol dehydrogenase into acetyldehyde which is broken down by acetyldehyde dehydrogenase into acetic acid [vinegar]. I'm not going back to proof read...NO, alcohol is not metabolized into ethanol to remove it from the bloodstream!

It was weirder than that. The boss wanted to "mail me" my stuff, but I was a machinist with 500lbs of tools/box and unlabeled stuff scattered about in my pass card locked room.
The guy who intervened and let me sort it out said I should have let him sort things out, I would have made thousands in equipment he thought was mine.
No, I don't want that... what don't people understand?

Sorry Bud, just saying that I have been there. It does really suck.
I used to hear the alarm clock go off, turn it off, roll over, go back to sleep and show up to work hours late at a place that did not tolerate that type of crap. I was the floor lead and hated the job.

Please do this: look for an alternative, actively, and settle for less if you have to. The mental stress isn't worth it, the aggravation isn't worth it, and there is no solace at the bottom of the bottle. Don't look, it's never there...

I'm making 1/2 of what I used to at a place that can only be described as a ship of fools, but the hours are flexible, I can take random days off, and their version of "pressure" I consider foreplay. I sometimes even sleep 5-6 hours straight at night now.
Sure, the bills are harder to pay, but I am slowly regaining equilibrium and mental health. I wouldn't go back at the end of a gun barrel.

Take care of yourself, no one else will. Hate me all you want, just don't hate yourself.

Aww I don't hate you bud.  Your absolutely right and what I tell people. Take care of yourself cause no one else cares.

Also yes making half of what I used to. Less stress. And why I'll drunkenly tell someone to farking fire me.

Day it happens and I can finally take some time off will be a godsend. Aint gonna happen. But I can dream.

state-dependent learning, it's one heckuva thing. it's why I can play pool really, really well after getting drunk at a bar, but otherwise not so much.

Yesterday was the first time in 6 months that I had 6+ hours, uninterrupted, to myself without being "obligated" to anything else. That isn't rational or reasonable, but it did take a chunk out of the morass. I'm shooting for another 8+ hours within a few months... lol

Schedule a day and go play some pool (or what ever you do). You need it and deserve it.
Yes, no one cares, but I do actually give a schitt. *shrug*
