Still does not own the rights to his greatest hits.

FTFA: Just months after leaving office, the former president has all but disappeared.

If only.

They'd like to disappear him. They'd like to pretend that he wasn't president at all. They'd like to pretend that they all didn't just get in line to kiss his ass. But they did.

Farking media are still addicted to his ratings potential and they're not going to let him go as long as his capacity for inspiring ridicule, mayhem and outrage remains, not to mention the prospect of a future Trial of the Century.

And there are zero facts related to his myth. It's just alllll bulls***

The biggest problem he presents for the current (and possibly any future) administrations is one of etiquette- Sooner or later situations will start to occur that traditionally former presidents have had formal invitations extended to them to attend.

How on earth do you invite Carter, the Bushes, and Obama, but not Trump... or invite him and find a way to prevent him from making it all about him?

Somewhere the office of protocol is hoping he chokes on a hamberder sooner rather than later just to avoid this. They're just smart enough not to say the quiet part out loud.

Want to see the Pres Sec squirm- a reporter should ask her what the plans are when invitations for former presidents are to be sent to an event.

Although not formal, all the living former Presidents, except baby, did a pro-vaccination commercial. I honestly suspect they invited him. They just have to make it crystal clear that it's not about him, and any attempts to make it about him or going off approved script would be edited out, so he didn't go. I suspect that is gow they'll handle official events as well.

How? You simply don't invite him, wait for him to claim "OH YEAH? I WASN'T GOING ANYWAY" and leave it at that.

Yeah it's not actually hard. This isn't a monarchy that has centuries of traditions for precedent or something. No one is going to want him at any formal ceremonies and he isn't going to want to go if it's not about him.

Seriously who is going to complain?

im sure somewhere there is a video of him saying hed never go to anything biden was at...something leading up to the inauguration maybe.
somewhere there's a tape they could source to claim he asked to be delisted from all future events.

But he hasn't acknowledged that he's an ex-president. That's not how he went out, so it's not exactly the same as Clinton, W or Obama.

I don't see that it'll be difficult at all.

The former presidents club have all made it very clear that he was technically installed in the office but that he will never be one of them. The Bushes for example explicitly disinvited him from Barbara's funeral.

When everyone on all sides agrees "fark that guy" it's remarkably easy to agree on making an exception and not inviting him.

Narcissists do NOT do well when faced with a rejection they can't deny.

He's probably cocooning himself away from sources of rejection while surrounded by sycophants in an effort to reinflate his fragile ego to the point where he can brush off/pretend the rejection never happened.
