This isn't strange.  There's a lot of Geisel-drawn anti-Nazi artwork, often in the form of editorial cartoons.  His work as a childrens' author is simply that much more widely known that it dwarfs the political stuff.

Republicans do not care about, or even recognize, their own hypocrisy.

Some don't even care if you know they're Nazis.

So let's just treat them as openly hostile Nazis and go to the next step.

Notice fascism is right in between Nazis and Communists. That is because the root of fascism is fasces, or a weapon that is a bundle of sticks (people) with an axe head to kill people judiciously, from Roman times. Both the "fascists" or right wing Nazis and the left wing communists are both actually fascists.

Dr Seuss to be re-cancelled once they start posting his anti-Japanese-American/Japanese Empire cartoons.
Or does this make Seuss even better with American racists again?

i think twitter has been having some issues, esp on east coast

Yeah, I've posted all of those at various members of Congress. Ages ago. I've been trying to yell out what's happening for ages now: We have a Nazi problem. A white nationalist problem. It seems like the mainstream wants to ignore it and hope it will go away. Before 1/6 they thought it was hyperbole, that we didn't have a problem with actual white supremacists who wanted to take over our government and enact Hitleresque laws while propping up their guy as a "strong authoritarian" white leader. No. They said I was being melodramatic. They pooh-poohed Sarah Kendzior, too, and she wrote THE book on the subject.

We have a f#cking Nazi problem. A real, honest-to-goodness, not-hyperbole, not-melodramatic, not-overstating-things white supremacist nazi problem.

And if we don't open our eyes and stop coddling these guys and slapping them on the wrist every time they hover closer and closer to their goal of total fascism and race war, we'll be screwed both as a nation and as a people.

If you have the stomach, watch this (all days, not just day one) and look for the dog whistles (and bullhorns) throughout. There are tons of them. It's all fearmongering, hate speech, race war warnings, and fascism veiled in American patriotism:

You know, memes were kind of fun when we first started to pass them around the internet, but it seems like these days people try to actually converse with them.
They aren't really a functional way to converse.

What you're getting at is called Horseshoe Theory which basically states that the oppression under Hitler doesn't look all that different from the oppression under Stalin or Mao, ergo they must be the same thing.

However, the basic political philosophies underlying communism and fascism are fundamentally different. If I had to write a term paper on the subject, my thesis statement would be that the effects being compared arise from them both being strongly authoritarian.

I think what the comic is pointing out is that the Nazi party started out as a socialist organization, but took a hard right turn once Hitler came in and killed off all the Nazi leftists.

Or me and my GED in political science could be totally wrong. If someone who actually studied this wants to correct me, I won't have much pushback.

Horseshoe theory is flawed in that it's actually a ring, with liberal democracies at the top and authoritarian dictatorships at the bottom. The ring may curve away to the left and to the right, but at the bottom of the ring where they merge again political/social ideology becomes meaningless and the sole motivation becomes maintaining those in power at all costs and keeping the serfs in line at all costs.
