And thus starts a lifetime of potential deaths by the flora, fauna and climate in and around Australia..

On 7 February 1986, after the discovery of new evidence, Chamberlain was released from prison on remission. She and her husband Michael Chamberlain, co-accused, were officially pardoned in 1987,[1] and their convictions were quashed by the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory in 1988.[4] In 1992, the Australian government paid Chamberlain $1.3 million in compensation.[5]

Yes, but Tina Fey can see Russia from Wasilla.

And every Alaskan can see Russia from Alaska if they fly to the Diomede islands, but that ruins the joke.

The Russian island of Big Diomede (part of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug), also known as Imaqliq, Inaliq, Nunarbuk or Ratmanov Island
The U.S. island of Little Diomede (part of Alaska) or Ignaluk, also known as Krusenstern Island[a]

The members of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory were subsequently eaten by dingos. [6]

A decision about how to manage the dingo will be made once the identity of the dog responsible for the attack is confirmed.

Probably nothing. Even at two the kid should have known that everything in his country wants to kill him.

My father was an old farm boy, and when the Azaria Chamberlain case came up, he swore that, in his experience, dingoes would never come near humans. Of course, in his experience, people didn't feed dingoes, so the problem never arose.

They found the bones of her baby, too. It was indeed eaten by dingoes.

Fun fact: Alaska is the Westernmost and Easternmost of the 50 States.

I love kids and animals. So, I hope the toddler recovers fully and nothing is done to harm the dingo.

I feel really sorry for the parents. There were five us in our family and four of us were escape artists in addition to one being a sleepwalker. One morning, when I was barely four, I slipped out of the house and got on a church bus. By the time my parents woke up, I was in another county. They had a proper search going for me while I was eating animal crackers and singing Jesus Loves Me.

The sleepwalker used to work locks in her sleep. Initially, my parents thought she was lying about not remembering what happened or how she got in the middle of the street. They thought the rest of us were lying too. But they started staying up in turns to catch her sneaking out. Once they realized she really was asleep, they spoke to the pediatrician who gave them tips like putting simple latches at the top of the doors so she couldn't reach them in her sleep. That mostly kept her in the house, but she would circle through the house and wake up in strange places.

Of course, those latches did nothing for the remaining three of us who were not sleep walkers. We went out the windows as often as the doors. Our parents would wake up to find all the doors remained locked including the locks that could only be operated from the inside. Yet, we were gone.

Compare to coyotes, since they're similar.   Coyotes won't attack people either--but they have.  Killed at least one adult.

How animals act under normal circumstances isn't the same as how they act once they're crowded and invaded on all sides.
Once again--its pretty much our fault.
