At least they're not calling it the America First Party, because then...boy howdy would they be in a dogwhistlely pickle. I mean, it's not like the name has been associated with Fascism and racist dickbaggery in the past, or Nazi apologism.

It's like someone whispered in their ears, "Hey, you wanna be seen as total dickbags? You want to appeal to the absolute worst people in the country? Here's the roadmap that history has provided, and we're going to sell it to you for the price of only one thin dime," and folks dislocated their shoulders with the speed that they reached into their pockets.

It would make more sense if Kinzinger was running as a Dem. Because he's not getting nominated by the Republican party by being anti-Trump.

Benjamin Franklin ran for public office and lost in the 1700s on the platform of defending America's Anglo-Saxon character from being corrupted by West Germans. (He later came to terms with them. I do not mean to imply he kept those views for his entire life.) "That ship has sailed" is not a strong enough metaphor.

FTFA: The America First Caucus's platform maintains that "a certain intellectual boldness is needed" in order to "follow in President Trump's footsteps,

Out of all the ideas, and ideologies that exist in the world, I'm not certain which one(s), individually, or collectively need to be present to lead one to follow in Trump's footsteps, but I'm dead certain it doesn't require anything remotely related to anything "intellectual".

Germans was used for ages before there was a Germany to mean people using one of several Germanic languages and living in the vague borders of the HRE.  The Huns existed before there was a Hungary, and the Angles before there was an England.

Amy and I have been friends for fifteen years, the KY race lined up about how she expected before she got in.  We both hoped the Gov. race results would translate to a presidential year, but apparently racism motivates the GQP to vote.

Greene and Gohmert are in SAFE seats.  They only have to win their primary, and could spend $20 on business cards to have out on a street corner for the general and still win by 20 points.  Greene will just hop districts (like she did in 2020) if she's gerrymandered out, but she won't be.

They're going to raise a bunch off this, but that's not why they'll win.  Their opponents will also likely raise a ton, and will get smoked.  Yay electoral politics.

It didn't occur to me that in the context of comparing one type of German to another type of German in the 1700s someone might take "West Germans" to refer to some post-WW2 political entity. Truly remarkable.

I almost find their idiocy and attention-whoring-evilness to be a welcome if not wanted sight.

These morons have drank from the racist punch bowl at the rich old white guy parties and are so horny on it that they are singing in the streets.  Making something that's been winked at and implied in public for decades into an open call to arms.

We now have the opportunity as a society to make a choice based on actual evidence.  Do we want to remove the platforms and power from these people or do we want to become an even more racist nation?

I love how the subjects of Seuss's editorial cartoons are the ones complaining the loudest about his being "cancelled".  Just gives permission to plaster those cartoons everywhere they go.

So British descendents only or are they also confused about the actual meaning of Anglo-Saxon?

Because spoiler, Trump's whore-mongering family came from south-western Germany.

Not sure of her ancestry, but she sure doesn't look pure British.

That's impossible because West Germany didn't exist until after WW2.

It's almost like they're using "Anglo-Saxon" because even FN won't promote them if they use "white" instead.

This is my big question re:  Ancestry.com DNA.

Do they count Anglo-Saxon ancestry as British or German.  It really depends on the timeframe.

What kind of names are Gohmert and Gosar? Cuz they sure as hell aren't "AngloSaxon".
And Taylor Greene looks like her mother was Polish
And speaking as an actual AngloSaxon, I apologize to the rest of the world for what "my people" have done to the rest of you.
OK , fine, so I'm more than a little Norman,Celt, with a sliver of MesoAmerican. Who the fark cares,I'm AngloSaxon, nothing else matters. And as such, Gosar and Gohmert can GTFO of my country., not because of their names, but rather because they are rank assholes.
