Let's sacrifice Nanna to the bull god so the line will go up and we can get drunk!

I can't judge that. Can I get it in barrels? Hogsheads? Firkins, maybe? What about butts. How many butts of ale is that?

Imagine all the haggis that will be eaten. Disgustang

(That's 5,787 Imperial butts or 5,957 US customary butts if you're wondering. Quite the buttload.)

Chaos always increases profits. That's why bourgeois bastids, Donald Trump, Putin and the guy called "Management" in the Zero Theorem are all fans of chaos.

It's also the reason why the Chinese pictogram for "crisis" also means "opportunity".

At least they will be drinking real beer, not that flavored water that is sold as beer in the USA.

So...1 in 13 people will have ONE pint of beer?

I'll keep my monocle in for that one.

If all servings are pints, were looking at just a touch over 11,574 hogsheads of beer.

They're done with vaccinating those 50 and older which means deaths will be quite low. There will be some deaths, and of course many with long Covid, but that's a risk the political and money class are willing to take to make the profits flow again.

Nope, this is what the majority will be drinking:

Slightly more flavor than American light lager, but not by much.

Isn't something like 80% of their country vaccinated? I mean, they think they're at here immunity. I guess it's test time?

Seconded.

But some of the basement dwellers on Fark will complain because they LOVE these ridiculous COVID regulations.

No, about 48%, a bit ahead of the 38% in the US, but both countries have vaccinated the majority of those likely to die of Covid so deaths should be significantly lower unless Covid pulls a Spanish flu in the next few months and turns deadly in young people.

Look, we tried to tell you there would be no math.  We should have insisted to you that there would be no maths.

Something like 1% of the people drink 90% of the beer anyway.  (greedy bastards)  That's like 666 thousand people drinking 15 pints each.  (I'm not double-checking the math).

Most of the rest will be drinking gin.  And then a few dozen scattered here and there will be in AA meetings thinking about drinking.

At the moment you can't actually drink inside the pub, for the next month it's only outdoor service. And it was close to freezing again last night.

Non essential shops are now open again, but the mask mandate still stands and we're mostly sticking to it.

Is it too early for this? Maybe. But it's not quite the free for all it's being spun as. Yet.
