They should forfeit all their bones and marrow for that.

Landfill.  Fertilizer.  That's about it.

I asked a friend in the business how many times they have to sink that large bore needle into your pelvis to get an adequate bone marrow sample.

Her answer: as many as it takes

Your friend was playing you.  It's mainly done by apheresis now.

415-2.  Who were the other 18 who abstained to avoid being overtly evil?

My dad donated back in the bore needle days.  Took him about 3 months to fully recover.  On the bright side the recipient lived 6 more years.

The road to hell is paved with bone marrow donations.  One minute you're helping someone who has leukemia, the next you're smoking crack & trying to donate plasma.

Is this just them voting against everything on principle the same way Greene has been trying to slow down Congress in every way possible, is it conspiracy theory bullshiat, or are they both just enormous idiots? I mean, it could be all three, but it's got to be one of them more.

Well they just don't want marrow coming from "those" people. The stupid evil that comes off these two is astounding, how do they remember to breath while they sleep?

The same as it is for the rest of the GQP from Yertle down: the GQP doesn't believe the federal government is legitimate and don't believe it should have any function in society.

2021-04-16 5:26:54 AM
The lack of a provision allowing random people to shoot the bones open in order to collect the marrow was apparently a deal-breaker for them.

Yu. The GOP has attracted contrarian toddlers now. They vote no for pure STIGGINIT

Bravo you morally bereft ghouls.

farking GHOULS.

Back when I was in the US, I was def on that list. Had blood tests done.. three times, I think? Once I got called back for a second blood test after the first (for the same potential recipient), but then heard nothing afterwards. I always hoped it's because they found a better match. Was never called to donate myself, but it wouldn't really have even been a decision in my mind if I had.

What was the stated rationale for this? I can't even imagine any excuse.

About 2-3 years ago I received a letter, saying that I might be a possible candidate as a donor. There was a strange feeling coming up that moment, a feeling of "alright, this is serious, sombody needs my help", pride was in the mix, too, that it was down to me, fear about the operation itself etc. I did all the tests, but even after the first letter chances are still rather moderate that the match is perfect enough to proceed, so ultimately I didn't donate any marrow.

I wish everyone that moment of "focus" (for lack of a better word), that everything else moves into the background for a person you've never met before, that feeling that a live may out of a sudden depend on you. A feeling that these two despicable human beings will never experience in their whole miserable lives.

Some of them undoubtedly were out of town, hospitalized, etc.  Generally one is not going to alter plans to tush to the Capitol to vote on something that will pass with such ease.

I also experienced this. Signed up decades ago when a friend's sister had some rare bone marrow cancer. Got called up for further blood testing about 3 years ago. It focuses the mind a bit. The process didn't get further than that first test though.

Undoubtedly all of those, but mostly just knee-jerk obstructionism. "What? EVERYBODY is voting for this? Then I MUST vote against it! That's why they elected me!!!!"

I mean, all Republicans are obstructionists, but these two take it to a new level.

It could be they don't even know what they're voting on, like the kid in class who was daydreaming and didn't hear the teacher's question, but since its a Dem bill they just reflexively vote no anyway.

If you ask them afterward what they just voted on, they probably couldn't tell you. Not that they ever read bills or understand them anyway. They have no experience at this government thing and don't even know what they're supposed to be doing most of the time.

Just proof that some people don't even need to be there.  Machines can do what these people do.  I'm voting for all robots in the mids next year and again in '24.

Or they are too busy feeding one another their boogers.

Guess my marrow sucks

More than likely in once case, that of the Qanon bint who parrots 'Praise be to Jesus' every time she speaks in Congress, as if that's going to make anyone take her seriously.

Republicans. The answer is always republicans.

Not sure why the marrow bit keeps coming up. Pretty sure they think cord blood is the devil. I would vote no too but only because cord pretzels are delicious.

2021-04-16 7:02:03 AM
If you are truly a freedumb-loving Capitalist, you'd all realize that bone marrow should be sold on E-bay to those willing to pay the most for it.  And if the bone-marrow doesn't match the winner, no big deal, they can try for matching marrow the next listing.  Having the government "match" bone-morrow to people who might not even have money to the highest price for it is just socialism and government over-reach.

One of the things that frutrates me is that we don't have a system in place in America to collect cord blood. I tried to donate mine but the hospital staff didn't have anyone who could extract or preserve it. It takes 9 months to have available cord blood that could save a life and we just toss it?! What a waste . . . .
