The night manager was fine until it went all "dr who" ending. The tone radically shifted.

He looks like Bond.

I am trying to recall what I saw him in.

Chris Helmsworrth might make a fun Bond if they wanted to go campy style

Also I would still like to see Bond as a Netflix show, and/or returned to the Cold War.

Idris Elba would be better. I'd like to see Rowan Atkinson do it though. Maybe mix in some Blackadder wit.

I've had an idea for "Felix Lighter: CIA"  a Bond spin-off set in the 60s, in the western hemisphere.

Caveat: my total exposure to that somethingorother was 5 minutes from the 1st season. There was nothing in those minutes that resembled The Night Manager. I didn't notice some marked tonal change in the finale of The Night Manager except that it was, after all, the climax of the story. A muttered, muted climax would have been ... odd.

(I think The Night Manager is the best of those extended TV shows. Even better than the Alec Guiness George Smiley ones.)

I think he'd give the role an interesting mix of suave refinement and steelyness.

And who am I kidding, I'd like to take a swim in his eyes for an hour and a half.

I'm sorry, what was the question?

I've been on-board with that idea for a long time, but now that he's almost 50, I'm thinking that ship may have sailed. Craig is 53, but he was 37 when he was cast as Bond.

That dude creeps me out.  I dunno why. I'm sure he has bodies buried in his basement.

It's hard to keep up with who is the current leader in the clubhouse with the Bond role.  The last time I checked it was Richard Madden as the leader.

I will hunt you down and leave flaming bags of poop on your doorstep if you've put that idea in someone's head.

Wasn't that more a mix of Mr. Bean and James Bond?
