He should play an exhibition game in Japan. They're terrified of Rodan.

That has to be one of the worst ways to lose a perfect game.  At least he still got the no hitter.

As a kid I saw a no hitter and the guy lost it by hitting someone. Was too young to remember much, but at least the guy got a no hitter out of it as well. Was maybe 5 years ago when someone on the Giants made it to the 9th with a perfect game and someone got a hit. A no-no is better than a nothing.

Joe Musgrave was also one hit batsman away from a perfect game in his no-hitter.  The wildest part is that his was the first no-hitter in Padres history.

Yupppp. I won't always remember gallaragas name off the top of my head, but I'll NEVER forget it was jim Joyce. Even though he's apologized profusely for it.

normally I like the Brewers well enough when they're not playing the Cubs, but damn they're making it difficult this year. though without the HBPs the Cubs wouldn't be getting any hits at all. ( ._.)

Eh, it's better than an error.  With an HBP or BB, the pitcher knows that it's on them. I can't imagine a perfect game spoiled by a teammate. The pitcher probably doesn't WANT to go out and shiat in that dude's locker, especially because the guy who made the error is probably feeling terrible and offering his firstborn as an apology. But deep down, the pitcher's thinking about it.

Goes to show how little respect the Cubs hitters get if teams aren't afraid to hit their better hitters with pitches because they know they won't score.
