I forgot how stupid Generations was. Just leave the Nexus and go back to where you first met Soren and kick his ass.

Mugato: I forgot how stupid Generations was. Just leave the Nexus and go back to where you first met Soren and kick his ass.

They don't even need to kick his ass. Just leave his ass.

Also: what's their damn hurry? Hang out and ride horses as long as you want! Picard should be familiar with this whole concept after the Inner Light episode.

Actually, there's a better version of Generations that starts out inside the Nexus, with Picard and Kirk (and maybe some other crew members) hanging out as old friends trying to remember how they got there and what important thing it was that they had to do when they left. Cut back and forth to the real world, and let the audience figure it out as they do.

Man, I'm a nerd.

I've been re-watching Lower Decks lately.  My 10-year old son loves it.

fark that, send 'em to DS12. Lower decks is hilarious, and Picard was beautifully shot. Hell even the score from Picard is wonderful.

/Discovery? Eh, not really my cup o tea so far

Enterprise had a similar blue shirt motif. Granted that's damning with faint praise...

DS9s later uniforms were very conservative and conforming, the only difference was the colored undershirt.

Besides, Discovery crashing on the ice planet was 1/3 spectacle, 1/3 reminding people of Timeless (2nd best Voyager episode) and 1/3 a spark for Detmer's character growth.

The uniforms in ST 2-6 were the only uniforms that looked like uniforms.

That's one of my favorites as well.  I literally watched that episode again yesterday evening.  That entire episode is great.  One of the best scenes is when Boimler and Mariner sneak to their stations during red alert...

It was more emotional in ST3. Destroying the Enterprise  D, meh. It looked like a hotel anyway.

I don't want to offend you or your family, but it's really difficult for me to take that as a recommendation.  Am I supposed to like something because I heard a 10 year old kid likes it?  From what I've heard elsewhere, the show is too much "remember this?" for my tastes.  I'm not a FAMILY GUY fan either, and that's what it sounds like to me.

Anyway, Picard was just awful.  The show is told from their own narrow point of view which ignores anything we've seen in previous shows and movies.  When this show started ignoring what it said in its own earlier episodes, I just couldn't take it.  Why should a show expect me to forget the scenes that they just showed me?

Lower Decks is a sometimes funny piece of FanFic. Which I guess is fine. Picard was terrible a mess. I generally blame the writing, but the actors signed on to the story. I never turned All Access back on so I can't comment on Disco season 3. Maybe I'm too old to appreciate Star Trek anymore. I kind of like Beyond. It felt like Star Trek.

ArcadianRefugee: Women drivers, amiright?

Well it's not even that she was a woman but she was the ship's shrink. I mean there wasn't any other person, male or female who could fly the ship? It was probably going to crash anyway.

The blame really goes to Geordi, who didn't realize his VISOR was farked with. But then we're into the whole racial thing so let's just say it was a poorly written film.

Disagree, but whatever floats your boat. For me, Into Darkness and Beyond were the biggest hot messes since I dropped my spaghetti on the floor. I almost walked out when they used the same dialog from WOK.

Plus I'm taking some design cues on my retirement cabin from Riker and Troi's place. What a sweet place.

NINEv2: For me, Into Darkness and Beyond were the biggest hot messes

I don't even remember "Beyond" but "Into Darkness" was farking terrible. I mean hiding the Enterprise under water looked cool but it didn't make any farking sense. And true, Khan was from India and not the Puerto Rican that they cast in the show but had no choice but to cast him in Wrath of Khan but he wasn't a foppish English guy either.

And they didn't understand the whole "KHAAAAAN!" thing either. In TWOK, Kirk wasn't actually over acting for us, he was over acting for Khan. He had his plan all made out to make Khan think that Kirk lost his shiat.

And the whole death scene wasn't earned. Kirk and Spock weren't best friends for 15 years like in the original Wrath of Khan. They both barely knew and pretty much hated each other in these new movies. So even that scene didn't work.

No.  I wasn't making a recommendation.  I was talking to someone who also likes Lower Decks and merely mentioning the fact.

Into Darkness was terrible.

Beyond fit right in with the old Star Trek model. Think of it as a double episode.

I won't argue about "Beyond" because I really don't remember it. I just think that going back to the Kirk/Spock well when there's so much else to do is just a lame concept. Look what DS9 did. But getting past that, if "Beyond" was a good film then cool.

Nothing wrong with the model. Hell I think Insurrection is a pretty good movie when you look at it like that. Problem is that the movies should be something bigger. Khan killed off Spock. UC put the Klingon Federation war to bed. FC ended the Borg. Beyond introduced new villains that no one had really invested in, I didn't really care. Waste of Mr. Elba's talents really. TMP did the same with vger.

/Just my opinions of course

Well if you agree with Picard, who sided with people who were squatting on a planet with a fountain of youth radiation that they refused to share with anyone because he wanted some MILF action.

Share? The Suliban were trying to take it for themselves only and killing their parents off in the process.
