He remembers the ADA and how the "moderates" drew the process out just to vote against it in the end.

/ an actual moderate Republican is probably an independent these days or even gasp!, a Democrat

It sure is convenient that there are exactly 10 of them -- the exact number of Republicans needed for Biden to pass legislation outside of EOs or reconciliation -- and this is in absolutely no way an attempt at a trap to get Biden to try adn work with them just so they can hem and haw and delay and just vote against whatever he's proposing in the end anyway in order to fark with his attempts at policy making.  And you should pay no attention to the fact that the entirety of the GOP, including these 10, has voted against all Democratic proposals right down the line unless they were watered down to near-ineffectiveness, or gave the GOP more than the left got.

No, they really mean they want to work with Biden.  Honest*!

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Biden learned this during the Obama years. And yes that is a big farking deal.

that Biden is a reasonable, deal-making moderate and that Republicans talk about compromise but really just want to obstruct. It's a perception that has given the White House all the leverage. the truth.

Should go even further and keep reminding audience that GOP has no positive suggestions to fix problems faced by US today. And that they are just continuing their policy failures of the Trump years.

The GOP whiners should be asked repeatedly "What would you do about the endless gun violence?" "What would you do to fix (whatever glaring infrastructure need is obvious in their state or district)?" "What would you do to stop police killing black men at traffic stops?" etc etc

'He says that we're a declining superpower, the United States is no longer No. 1,' Wicker said afterward. 'I just fundamentally disagree with that.'

That is Republican Sen. Roger Wicker of Mississippi.

How do you "compromise" with people who live in a bubble?

2021-04-14 3:48:22 PM
Okay, here's a deal: Republicans silence Cruz, Hawley and Gohmert, and then we'll talk.

Don't care how, just use some sort of silencer.

2021-04-14 3:49:37 PM
They see a White House "constantly rubbing dirt in the face of Republicans" over the party's lack of interest in bipartisanship while "passing as many partisan bills as they possibly can through reconciliation

And?

And that bubble is Mississippi, a state who struggles not to be last in anything.  The mind reels.

They're just mad Biden isn't taking the bait. He was there longer than them.

BAHAHAHAHAAA!

It starts with what they see as some hardwired media narratives they can't shake: that Biden is a reasonable, deal-making moderate and that Republicans talk about compromise but really just want to obstruct.

Yeah there's a reason for that, assholes. It's called the last ten farking years.

Moderate Republicans are just Republicans who don't say the quiet part out loud.

2021-04-14 3:52:28 PM
But the next day,Senate Majority Leader CHUCK SCHUMER announced the outlines of a plan to pass the bill with just 50 votes. "You do one meeting and 24 hours later they prepare the reconciliation process," another G-10 staffer complained.

They showed all of their cards in that one meeting. Should have come with a real offer and not an insult.

The only one of them that even approaches "moderate" is Mitt Romney and in a normal timeline he would be considered "far-right".  It's easy to appear to be moderate when "actual seditious Nazi" is the other choice.

Nice.  Needs to replace the Obama caricature with one of Biden also.

Just to drive home the point that the GQP has driven the Overton Window *SO* far to the right that a centrist democrat can make the progressive wing of the party happy.

Sooo... What they're complaining about is that Biden isn't the typical durty demonrat that they can string along, while poisoning the well. That they can't pretend to be compromising, only to vote against things anyway?

Yeah... we've seen the playbook and you know what you can do? Go have intercourse with yourselves.

They're mad because trying to demonize Joe Biden as a radical to Americans is like trying to call oatmeal spicy.

? Almost 3Xs as many 1990 GOP Senators voted for the ADA than against it. These 8 that voted against weren't moderates:
NAYs ---8
Armstrong (R-CO)

Garn (R-UT)

Gee Republicans.. maybe you folks should have done something more then obstruct over the years and then sit on your backsides while appointing judges. Maybe then people would take you more seriously but that bridge is long gone.

Biden, pointing at a daycare: "Infrastructure"

"When you go to the White House meeting you risk being used in a feigned attempt at bipartisanship. If you don't go then it's, 'Oh, Republicans won't even meet with me.' It all pivots on whether it's a genuine offer from the White House or just part of their messaging strategy."

Lindsey Graham is giving a presser on Fox now how about Biden should not be removing troops from Afghanistan and his breaking a law that Congress wrote and how no administration can ignore the laws written by congress.

He is blaming Biden for the war in Iraq.

He also says that if we ignore Afghanistan the angry mooslems will come get us.

He just said that we are abandoning Afghani women and their rights as humans and he is praying for them since we are leaving them in the lurch.

He forgets that The Saudis(who the GOP kisses ass like no other) financed 9/11 and we had a special report showing that that farking William Barr hid saying "protecting state" secrets.

Mona Lisa Vito: So what's your problem?
Vinny Gambini: My problem is, I wanted to win my first case without any help from anybody.
Mona Lisa Vito: Well, I guess that plan's moot.
Vinny Gambini: Yeah.
Mona Lisa Vito: You know, this could be a sign of things to come. You win all your cases, but with somebody else's help, right? you win case after case, and then afterwards you have to go up to somebody and you have to say, "thank you."
[pause]

I like it with Obama. They pulled this crap on Obama the whole damn time. It documents why Joe is under NO obligation to take them seriously when they cry "bipartisanship".

The next time a republican dares speak the word Bipartisanship in Joe's presence he should LITERALLY flip them off with both hands.
