It's a supply ship so they went with something that has some junk in the trunk.

I bet the deck apes loved it.

Now top Australian governmental and military leaders know where babies come from. I don't see anything wrong with this.

Tr0mBoNe: I bet the deck apes loved it.

This was clearly planned and executed by members of the E-4 mafia.

A group of stunned officials didn't know where to look as a group of scantily clad dancers twerked toward them during celebrations to mark the official launch of a new $2billion navy ship.

Former soldier and Liberal MP Phillip Thompson told the ABC the entertainment was inappropriate for the occasion, which took place on Saturday.

'Standards in the ADF, and definitely when commissioning a ship, should be a little bit higher than that,' he said.

C'mon subby, now you're just making names up.

"Australian", I mean c'mon...

FTA:  "It's an interpretive dance, telling the story of how the Navy has no budget to put on proper entertainment for this ship launch after spending all their money on submarines,'

Top class snark from the Aussies.

"'HMAS Supply and the Royal Australian Navy are committed to working with Australians from all backgrounds in actively supporting local charities and community groups,' they said."

Ah, I see the Royal Navy's PR department is up to speed on mealy-mouthed, buzzword-laden deflections that insinuate that you're out-of-touch and bigoted for having the audacity to question their choices.

The most common family name in Australia is Maseth. It's like Nguyen in Vietnam.

It was a recruiting campaign. After the dancers finished they found seamen all over the docks.

Nice to see that they hired a self-esteem dance team.
Body positivity is important in the military.

I liked that they sport the traditional Sir Mix a Lot type of big butt and not the currently popular deformities.

Sea Patrol was a great Aussie navy drama.

One half Star Trek
One half Baywatch

Oh, and a seasoning of a guy who looks like Ted Stryker from Airplane!

I agree.  That's what counts for "scantily clad"? Black shorts and a red tank top?

If I was an attendee, I'd want my money back.

Pulled into Woolamaloo pier when I was on the Blue Ridge in 2015, it's super nice area and pier, within walking distance of the Opera House.  That and we couldn't have colors broadcast outside the ship because Russell Crowe lived nearby and would biatch.

Why couldn't they have hired dancers who could actually dance? They have different timings, they have non-matching dance moves, and to add insult to this horrible mess, they're overweight!

Well, the PR department has to be a bit defensive in case anyone questions their working with the Palestinians.

Got to stay in Wooloomooloo on a vacation once, in the Before Times. The Ovolo Wooloomooloo is a very cool hotel, very friendly/helpful staff. Walking distance to the Royal Botanical Gardens. But this doesn't look like the Finger Wharf in Wooloomooloo to me.
