Clicking through to the actual document from the WH: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/20613298-biden-infrastructure-plan-state-highlights

It does not specify how much money each state will get. It specifies which parts of the total allocation each state should/could benefit from. In short, it's a PR piece.

Or to the PDF.

For decades, infrastructure in ______ has suffered from a systemic lack of investment. The need for action is clear

More like the talking points for hacks (slightly less lazy than those at WPBF) to write state-by-state PR pieces.

If only he spent $3billion dollars on tax breaks for rich people, we would be better off.

But that's exactly what is needed. To get his law passed, Dems need to create a lobby of self-interested partisans in each state to pressure their reps to support it.

The (successful) model of military projects which outlive usefulness but are perpetuated by this process.

What a wasted opportunity.

We've got states as red as Texas and blue as New York that pissed away hundreds of billions in tax money that they pinky promised was going for infrastructure. Now they want a spot at the trough?

What they deserve is a public cockslap upside the head and a hearty "go FARK yourself, Greg Abbott. You. Get. Jack. Shiat. Now hold still while I piss in your face just to drive the point home."

(Use "Andrew Cuomo" in the above if you'd like.)

Instead, they're rewarded.

I see Maine got a C-.

Also, 85% of Mainers that can get internet have access to only 1 provider, eh?

Guess we here in The County are lucky.  I can choose from either Constipated Communications, Comcast or a local ISP.  That's three!  Three internet providers!! Ah ah ah ahh!!! *boom*

I didn't see any massive bailouts for hotels and golf courses. Does President Biden not care about hard working Americans?

What this should include : money for nuclear power plants so we can shut down the entire coal and gas industry in the country that still produces 63% of our power and pollutes a shiat ton.

The real question is 'Are these government jobs paying over $15 an hour or are these handouts to Wall Street?'

BSAB, a false equivalence, and a red herring.  Good work.

Only "okay", and the rural areas have the worst of it. Too bad the voters there have been conditioned to vote (and scream) against their own best interests.

I can't quote it due to the lousy website, but I'm so glad that Biden is at least suggesting that, gasp, America isn't actually the best in the world! Meanwhile the quoted republican senator just cant let go of that sweet sweet american exceptionalism. Just one of many issues this country faces, sigh.

Another brilliant bit of Republican legislation. They thought carving up the service areas would lead to LOWER prices; because that's usually what you get with a monopoly - lower prices.

McCain later said that he got that one wrong and immediately sprung into action and did absolutely nothing to fix it. Some maverick that guy.

You'd think the staffer that released this could have double checked the state Biden is from for copy-n-paste errors, but, nope, broadband improvements are only needed in Connecticut....

Doesn't everybody already know that a right to work state is non-union, and at-will is a reason they can't shiatcan you? Right to work states have the lowest paying jobs, too. Those states do not allow workers to unionize... it's just a huge kick in the balls to the working man persons.

My home state of Mississippi got a D+. That sounds about right. On I-22 you can literally see the state line crossing from Alabama into Mississippi where the pavement instantly becomes shiattier.

Wisconsin got a C? I would expect a D. Glad they are bringing up rent. Holy shiat rent is high as fark in my city. So bad, that people have to live outside of the city. Only people making over 40k a year, or students are living in the city. They also want to redevelop an area on the side of one of the rivers, and add 2 places for apartments, and retail. There are not enough people in the area for retail, the pandemic killed so many small businesses, and the rent for the apartments are at least 1k a month. This is an area with low income people. You can buy a house in my city, and get a cheaper monthly payment than that. I get the gentrification rants on Kimmy Schmidt now.

BROADBAND:18% of Missourians live in areas where, by one definition, there is no broadband infrastructure that provides minimally acceptable speeds

As some one who lives in an area only serviced by Charter and AT&T, I am one of those 18%.
(yea I know, cliché line, at least AT&T has been running fiber in the area so I should be able to get 1gb/s when that's ready)

You know what's great? We're talking about an actual plan to do things that really and truly need to be done. About the best way to accomplish goals critical to the safety and well-being of the people living in this country.

/ not sick of it yet sorry

The Mississippi Senator will compare any stretch of I-10 in the state with those communist bullet trains that first world nations have. (Mississippi roads are a stinking disaster and they can't even blame the frost)

We had an initiative about 10 years ago (I think) called the "three ring binder," and I don't know why they called it that.  But it allowed rural areas--especially in northern Maine--to vastly expand its access to internet providers.  If you're REALLY out in the sticks or on a farm, yeah, you're very limited.  But once you're in a town or "city" such as Houlton or Presque Isle, you get more options.  We even have 1Gbps fiber.

We should give DC back to virginia and maryland to reenfranchise the people there.  Then move the capitol to a more interior zone to the country where it can better be defended when russia and china war with us.
