I went to high school with him, Romeo High School. My dad got transferred to the US to work for GM at their tech center and we settled in Romeo. I was slow to adapt being used to French school and society. What a redneck shiathole that area is. All students talked about was guns and riding their 4 wheelers and motorcycles and blowing stuff up. I never really had any interaction with him, but had heard a lot of talk. He was an up-and-coming rapper at the time, I guess, but I didn't give a shiat about that because I was into post-punk and alternative. My dad still lives there and I go back to visit, I live in far more progressive Royal Oak now, but that area is full Trump cult. In fact, that whole Macomb Couny sucks. The second you cross from Oakland to Macomb county, everything is different - the architecture of the buildings and houses, the cars they drive, the clothes they wear, and it seems like they all smoke cigarettes heavily. Ugh.

i have a friend from Detroit who played baseball with him like in the 8th grade, he said they used to call him Little Richie the pussy because even though he was older he still tooled around on a big wheel.

The Shield is the only reason I even know what this song is.

Kid Rock - Bawitdaba (the shield video clip)

My favorite part of that clip is when Danny Sofer (Catherine Dent) decides she should take her gun on her blind date after seeing what the guy looks like.

Not from Detroit; don't know the guy. Never cared much for his music. I have really nothing to add except this: I lived, worked and went to school in Flint for many years, and Kid Rock personifies the "East side of Flint" douchebag loser. If you've ever been there, you know exactly what I mean. If you haven't, then count yourself lucky.

No, I don't recognize the name. There were a lot of RHS grads that were military-bound, though. But not a surprise, not knowing him. I'm a typical introvert, never came close to fitting in and tried to stay off the radar. It's amazing that I stayed in in the US, let alone Michigan.

I have a friend here in Florida from Flint, black guy, has a giant Flint tattoo on his back.

Nicest guy in the world, but when he gets mad the Flint comes out. He wears it like a badge of honor.

I got a lot of respect for the dude, got out of the gang life, and has been working for ATT for like 20 years, owns a house, cars paid for.  But has a hair trigger temper.

He's spent far more time with Donald Trump than anyone from pop culture should ever spend with the President of the United States. He's piggybacked onto several Tennessee politicians and business owners to obtain fairly routine access to Trump, and given the number of times I've personally seen ol' Bob drunk, slobbering, shouting obscenities and dropping N-bombs - well, let's just say they're probably a match made in heaven. Trash blending well with trash.

Good news for you - Oakland County went for both Hillary and Joe.  So it's not as Trumpian as you think it is.  Probably due to them being a very vocal minority.

There's a reason Kid Rock played the stupid, ugly redneck villain in Joe Dirt.

That reason? Typecasting.
