So they included the new movie uniforms, but not the classic movie uniforms, and made it a slideshow?  GTFO with your bullshiat.

Only the new movie uniforms that take place before the point when the Kelvin timeline splits off.
Still, it's a glaring and bizarre omission.

I know, right.  Best damned uniform in all of Trek.

I always dug the blue collar (no pun intended) aesthetic of the Enterprise uniforms, if not necessarily the show itself.

It may sound pedantic, but, the new command uniforms are a bit too "orangey".
/too bad they aren't closer to the original yellowish olive green.

Oh my god, my eyes.  I seriously don't know what to think of that.  Side note, it's sad that I immediately recognized that pic as a production still from TFF.

This isn't farking with my head as much, probably because those colors are correct even if the divisions got swapped back. The TOS movie uniforms were only ever red and seeing them as anything else is bad and wrong

/Shop them into the TOS bright red, powder blue and lime gold colors and we'll talk

He must have pissed off SOMEone in Wardrobe.

Apparently, TNG got hate mail by some stupid people over the first design of the Dress Uniform, because they were upset with men wearing "dresses."  Also, the initial standard uniforms were so tight that it gave the actors back problems trying to stand correctly, so that's a reason they were redesigned.

In TOS, the shirts had to be replaced every so often because the material shrank in the wash (insert fat Shatner joke if you must).

In TMP, the buckle was intended as a health monitoring device, letting McCoy track how the crew was doing.  When I heard about this as a kid I thought it was impossible.  Now, we have FitBits and others.

I can't remember where it's from, but I read once that the command uniforms actually were green, but, because of the lighting and material, they photographed as gold. IRL, they were close to Kirk's green wraparound tunic.

TFA not only missed the classic TOS film uniforms, they mangled the Pike timeline, implying they went back to the familiar TOS look after briefly wearing what you see in "The Cage". But those events happened prior to Pike showing up in ST:D rocking the original Trek garb.
