For a long time my county of 22k people was getting 100 doses of vaccines a week.

Now we are having another mass vaccination of Moderna of 1000 doses.

First one was Pfizer.
I got that one.

A Nebraska woman who is in jail sued to get an abortion.

A judge ordered the state to let it happen.

Honestly, the audio on the video makes it pretty clear to me she thought she was tazing him.
I believe it was an accident.

But a 20 year old unarmed man with a kid is now dead because he was afraid of being handcuffed by police 10 miles from where police murdered George Floyd while he was handcuffed.

She was grossly negligent in not knowing what weapon she was firing at another human being.
She should never be allowed to touch a gun again.
Police procedures are clearly garbage.
The family has a whale of a wrongful death civil lawsuit.

The warrant out for him was related to weapon possession, and they don't know what he's got in the car, so I don't think tazing him for resisting is entirely unreasonable.

My guess is that the officer will not be criminally prosecuted.

In April of 2015, A Tulsa County (OK) Sheriff's Reserve officer made a similar "mistake" - drew his service weapon and claimed he thought he was pulling his Taser.  He was charged with second degree manslaughter, tried and sentenced to four years.

Accident and negligent aren't statutory terms here, but this was not an accident. It was negligent, she was not aware of what firearm she was holding, waved it around like a loon and finally intentionally pulled the trigger.

Per wikipedia:

Although the base and platform have occasionally been altered to accommodate the larger size of modern coffins and for the ease of the attending military personnel, it is basically the same today as it was in Lincoln's time.

Catafalque of Theseus, then.

Sure, but the point is that there are NO accidental firearm discharges. They're either intentional or negligent.

Okay, so...Saturday night Mr. Squid convinced me to watch a film that has a 12% on Rotten Tomatoes, probably because someone took a really solid war games script and turned it into a stupid comedy.  (Premise: an admiral wants to show how the Soviets' shiattiest equipment can still penetrate national defenses - so he sends out a crew in a rust-bucket WW2 sub to evade their state-of-the-art nuclear submarines.

At one point the rust bucket has cut engines and is sitting on the ocean floor because the nuke sub pinged it on radar. The nuke sub is right on top of them investigating the ping.

Cue a 15 minute meltdown when the cook gives them away by letting out a 120 decibel, hull-rattling fart. Which segues into Kelsey Grammar furiously pantomiming orders at the densest guy in the crew while trying not to make a sound. Which segues into the sonar operator running around the sub making whale noises.

I'm actually dead. We're both dead. This is my ghost typing.

Oh I've seen that movie.  And god damn did I laugh.  Laughed so much.

And Shep just played the shooting video.  There's no goddamn way she should have mistaken that gun for a TASER.  The damn things are almost a pound different in weight, different sight profiles, different damn colours, and handle differently.

On top of that, there's 3 cops and one suspect.  And it's a farking tag issue...what the hell....
