I DNRTFA, but there are college teams that already do this. Hell, NCAA teams have had a "small lineup" different from their starting five for years.

As long as the NBA won't allow enforcers to beat the crap out of smaller guards, then yes.

I know that the guard play and the overall handling ability of NBA players has been the reason cited that there is no press in the NBA but I'd sure love to see somebody at least try it and commit to it, a la Nolan Richardson.

There's also a lot more athleticism in the NBA so successfully getting the inbound pass to the other side of the press is a lot more likely.  And most coaches would prefer to keep their players healthy and energized as much as possible for 82 games - playing a press is not conducive to that end.
